Just play it!

I was not a fan of turn-based strategy. I hated most RPG's automatically if the words "turn" and "based" came into it's description. In fact, I had never even HEARD of Disgaea until I read about it in a magazine. Even then I was skeptical, being that I hated strategy games as well (Heroes of Mana and Revenant Wings had both disappointed me greatly). But I decided to go out on a limb (a very sketchy looking one at that) and have been entranced by it ever since.

The tone of the game is very fun. It doesn't take itself too seriously like most DS square enix games of the same genres. I laughed out loud when I read the dialog between laharl and the first mid-boss (and a few other times, but that one stuck out cause I went through it twice).

The beginning is a little overwhelming, but I just rushed through it and re-read all of the tutorial stuffs after I got a handle on everything

Apparently this is EVERYTHING from the PS2 version stuffed into one tiny DS cartridge, which I find truly amazing, especially since all of the secrets from the PS2 version (that I've looked up) are also included in this game.

Go get it, it's like no other game you've ever played. It's more fast-paced than FFTA2 and has a much more interesting story.
