User Rating: 9.5 | Makai Senki Disgaea 2 Portable PSP
Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days is a port from the ps2 version of cursed memories and those who already played the ps2 version should definitely check this version out. Disgaea 2 offers alot of things to do in a small package so why don't we start off. The Story is really predictable which I foreshadowed the whole story and I was sadly right about it (literally) but it was still a great story to watch. Disgaea 2 takes place in a world called veldime but sadly it's slowly becoming a netherworld due to an overlord who came into this world called Zenon. Zenon places a curse over veldime and now every human is slowly becoming a demon but apparently except for one person which is you Adell. Later on in the years Adell trains hard to kill overlord zenon to relinquish his curse over veldime and rescue his family and friends before they become demons. As I said before this story is easily predictable but it's still a blast to watch. The Gameplay is somewhat the same as the first but with more features and literally alot more; new features as in jumping in world map, new characters to play as; at first there were already alot of characters to play as including secret characters but in this one there is even alot more added from various games like disgaea 3 even with downloadable content, new classes; there are I think a few new classes in Dark Hero Days, new weapons, new attacks, new dark assembly; for example there are now more voices (higher vote) in certain classes or senators and legendary senators which each have certain ways of helping or hurting your votes, character towers; when lifting one character another character and lift those characters as well and this can continue on and on and on, become a senator in assembly; when as a senator you can now take up in the senators side to help on your bills, and so much more! The Sounds are well done, when hearing explosions, or ice attacks, or wind attacks, or team attacks, or special attacks fit well with the sounds that they provide as well but kinda overused the normal attack sounds with mainly each weapon but other than that it's all good, also the music is perfection I can hear the music over and over again and never get bored and plus some of the music at certain time pumps up the mood for serious battles, even if they're not bosses! The Graphics are the same but a bit more sharper than the first but I still enjoy them plus it gives that felling that these graphics are the soul to this game, changing it will kill the game. Some of the graphics are also really good when using team attacks especially using special attacks you just use it watch and be stupefied while watching these amazing attacks. The Controls are a bit frustrating at time, when you want to attack someone and you highlight someone but you accidentally highlight someone else or even worse your teammates and you have to do it again but by doing so you at times mess up your combos and you get pissed off at it. But Then again you'll eventually grow on it and find an easier way to use this system well. The camera is a 4 way look, you lock your camera in each of the corners of your character or map that isn't a bad thing but at times when you can't see anything due to the camera you get more frustrated and become impatient so that is one flaw about this. But overall this game is a well balance game and for all those SRPG fans and fans of the first and other games related to shouldn't miss out on this game.
