The game would be way better with a proper progression system. The progression system works for the hero, but not for its allies. With a gradual level up system for the allies, I think it should play much better. For example if an ally reaches Lv5, you have the option to convert it at another class, giving small advantages, instead the actual format that gives a huge advantage from just one level.
Better tactical options would help too. For example a healer that can cause damage sometimes, although just a little when needed, would be way better than a pure healer.
A small income of experience for idle units would help too. So you don't have to defend your cities with a bad hero and a bunch of useless allies when necessary.
And a better game engine with less bugs would be a bless to players.
I quit playing the game, mainly because of the bug issues and the repetitive combat without any tactical importance.
