Justin Calvert rediscovers his love of donuts in this Dirt 3 video review.
This is an amazing looking game. You can't be failed to be impressed with the graphics on the PS3, and I'm guessing that stays true across all platforms. Not only are the environments totally interactive and destructible, but the vehicles also take a serious and detailed beating. Looking forward to the lauch of Dirt Showdown. I've been participating in the contests over at AMD Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/AMD/app_370166086361523 and on http://www.facebook.com/RelianceHVG. You guys should check it out, they've got some cool giveaways.
getting this one for sure :)
Now that it's cheaper, I probably gonna get it. Although I could wait a little bit more to find it cheaper lol
Game looks very dark and green, was my first impressions and not skippable neverending tutorials
Just watched the video review, game looks awesome. With fast paced racing as well as some crash and bash in multi-player I think I will have to add this to my newly acquired collection I got with my new Xbox for Christmas.
want to buy
the multiplayer looks sweet... reminds me of destruction derby.......... I want destruction derby... but thisll do
Gonna get this as I played the demo and its Awesome!
Got this on sale for $15 on Black Friday at BestBuy. Been wanting to get a good rally game for several years since going to some rallies in PA and I'm happy to know its by the guys who brought me Colin McRae Rally (fond memories). Lovin it for now (even if the starting stages are a tad short and random)
MAN! i saw this at bestbuy on blackfriday at 12 AM for 15$.... didnt know it was a good game...
I can' listen to this reviewer anymore. He doesn' have any 'T's on his words. What has happened to the level of English in the world?
JimmyTHand He's Bri'ish. It's an accent.
JimmyTHand Why would he have Ts "on" his words? Surely they would be in his words? Hypocrite.
my cousin just brought this yesterday and we tried it out, it's a lot of fun , although a little difficult at turns, but hey that's on me and my driving skills not the game, I'd give it a 9.5 instead of 9.0 overall, though I agree with system3142 about the voice overs, I'm not a big fan of them either.
It's built up great since the early start of the Colin McRae series... Just wish we could've had a dedicated rally mode like from the original Dirt. Also, am I the only one who finds the voice overs condescending? (You deserve that silver medal. Wtf) Great game.
This game deserves a 9.5 or a 10.....
I love this game. Tons of modes, great driving model and crashes, and superb visuals. Plus fun online gameplay. If you are remotely interested, don't be afraid to pay $50 or $60. It's worth every penny.
why is it so fackin difficult make just a great driving game and not an arcade hitting blocks and stuff?
I dont get it... he mentions the youtube videos are limited to 30 seconds... so it gets a 9.0? very strange.
-Automobile as its business is a public enemy. better to keep then at the video games. -Race are always nice to play, drive skills and stuff are dumb play. If so,only at the race itself.not a section full of it. -Clean 1ps view are better to play than 3ps to play race games.
This game looks awesome and deservers a better rating. :) I wish they added somemore modes from other games into this like.... from Crashday (attach a machine gun and a rocket launcher will be a hell of fun :D )
Best racing game ever for my choice
@THCpariah Because I liked the original Colin Mcrae rally games before they started putting all the extra modes in. Thanks for the link anyway ill check it out.
@ABC2K why don't you try looking at rally games before complaining this is on gamespot's front page of ps3 racing games WRC: FIA World Rally Championship
huh I just want a rally game, cant they just make a rally game and have tonnes of rally content in instead of all this extra stuff. I was considering this until I read the comment below that there are only four stages. I guess that is at the expense of all the extra modes they put in. The old colin mcrae games were what this game should be like now. Also what is with flashbacks?
Great game... First game i bought when it first came out in a long time... worth 60 bucks. Im a huge Rally fan. Even bigger Gymkhana fan (see my youtube vids "Nick Burnley Gtmkhana") everything is great. couple downsides though. the story mode races get repetitive but not often, and the video replay editor is extremely basic. you can only upload 30 second clips. They sould have done it more like the SKATE games which did video editing and uploading extrely well. all in all 9 out of 10 is a fair rating
@mad-at-nintendo burnout paradise, you cant go wrong wth criterion
Evo X !!!
Nice review, but the voice over is so boring and put me to sleep.
I actually don't own any racing games (beside NFS Carbon for GameCube), and I was wondering what I should get. I have a PS3, and I hate driving simulators like GT5. Any suggestions? PS: I'm not doing great on cash so cheaper is better.
I rented this game from Redbox just to try it out. Didn't like the circuit racing, however, did like the rally stages and ability to change time of day. But the biggest dissappointment is that there are only 4 locations for rally. I really don't care if they have numerous stages for each location, b/c they look the same anyway. I will not be buying this. Plus, I couldn't even play multiplayer b/c of the whole VIP pass $10 requirement. Oh well, their loss.
DO WANT.
I WANT THIS GAME
lol. Good thing there was a Dirt 3 ad on this video. Never heard of the game. Now I'm going to go check out a review. Oh wait, I'm already watching a Dirt 3 review?
just ordered another 6950 that apparently includes this game, good to know it doesn't disappoint :P
Great review.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS GAME
Yes! Split-screen - FINALLY. That was the only thing that kept me from getting Dirt 2; a racing game without local multiplayer is ridiculous.
flashback? yuck
why is the review so slow and boring i almost fall asleep
@rezsepehr PS3 review should be up tomorrow, now that the PSN store is back up. I had hoped to post it today, but I've been in E3-related meetings for most of it. I've already played a lot of the PS3 version; just need to test the online modes.
@DamageIncM Most of us on the reviews team now have HD PVR setups on our desks. A couple of us have even bought identical setups for ourselves to use at home as well. Super-easy to capture console footage at up to 720p direct to hard-drive. :)
Yuck... sorry, but not crazy about the sort of game-modes... This isn't some kind of arcade-game or shooter... well they made it look more like something like that now... And also @JusticeCovert : There IS another way to save replays; it's called FRAPS. :P Not for consoles of course, but works fine for PC. However, I still wonder how the video from consoles gets recorded at GameSpot.
I love this series, however I didn't like the fact that these cars don't feel heavy in game instead feel like feather weight :( Apart from that it's another fantastic game!
I just bought this game and it's so amazing that my pillow came to life and started to beat the hell out of me :P but really it improved a lot since DiRT 2 :D
Dirt 1 great, Dirt 2 awesome, Dirt 3 master piece ^^ Colin McCrae Dirt 3 is the most realistic car game until now, tracks impressively detail, Cars I don't even mention, much better then GT and Forza, damage system is awesome, classic on Colin McCrare Series, this is real simulation of driving, isn't like Forza or GT, every time you spin or slide with a car you turn the car backwards or when you use the hand brake!, very unrealistic, for don't mention the awful damage system that games have, and the cars don't get dirty what so ever! This game prove, put loads of cars don't make a racing game better, Who want a real simulation of driving with loads of God content, and the best car and tracks graphics buy Dirt 3.
