Dirt is back...with X Games

Although...The rallycross portion is one of my gripes about this game but I'll get to that in a bit.

First of all the good: The visuals are awesome, the sound is awesome, the game is awesome. And the trophies are EXTREMELY easy to get. (I've had it for about a week and I've got only 2 left until I platinum it.) The fact that leveling up online makes getting the online trophies not to annoying.

The car selection is great with six classes of cars and only four buggies. (YAY! stupid buggies. those things are hard to drive. If you can master them you'll win ALL the online races in them.)

Now for the cons: The car selection. Not a lot of variety. 6 classes and there's only about 26 cars vehicles to race. Why? Because three of the classes are made up of the same cars. That and you have three X-Games versions three cars that are already in the lineup, but they also count as separate cars. The lack of vehicle selectoin can be annoying, but not as annoying as the ever-present rallycross. This gets old fast and you'll find yourself just doing all the rallycross races in career just to be rid of it.

The track selection is also limited to 41 courses. And most of those are variats of each other. So, while each track provides different challenges, you'll be seeing a lot of the same scenery over and over again.

Online the game has a LOT of lag and the PS3 version does experience a bit of slowdown when there are a lot of vehicles on the track, but it's still a great game. But with all the negatives, it gets a 4 out of 5.
