Not terrible, but not good either! A continuation of the world of all powerful Final Fantasy VII but that's about all...

User Rating: 7.1 | Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII PS2
Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus was a much waited title. Having one of the most popular, liked character Vincent Valentine from the MOST impacting RPG Final Fantasy VII, people from all over the world anticipated the release of FFVII:DOC... however the game fell short of our expectations.

Gameplay:
Gameplay wasn't terrible...but it wasn't good either. Shooting was too easy, hitting was too easy. I mean using the scope is pointless because you're gonna be able to hit them anyways. The gameplay consisted of running around shooting at enemies, an FPS, 3rd person shooter =P made easy and uninteresting. Modifications to the guns were interesting but did not vary much. Materia were powerful but not very flashy or special. Useful and useless at the same time. Gameplay overall was bland, with tedious buttons, and ultimately a bit too easy.

Graphics:
CG's were beautiful. But only because they were made by the same team as those who did Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts CG's. So for those who have already seen how magnificent the graphics are for the mini videos between battles and stories...you will know they are brilliant but limited in this game. For the rest of the game the graphics can get a pass, although corridors and areas seem a bit like they are copied and pasted. Camera action is a bit tedious but manageable. So overall I give Graphics a good but not great.

Story:
It's basically Vincent Valentine's story...all the question marks they left you in Final Fantasy VII...yea a lot of question marks. The story is good and probably one of the more compelling part of this game that will get you to finish this game...once and never play it again.

Sound: Not bad, not irritating...actually quite good. Pretty decent music...nothing that would harm my ear or make me annoyed. The mood was right. Sound effects were alright. So overall nothing too bad about sound, nor was it impacting.

Value:
Play this game just for the story and the CG's...and I guess the disk cover looks good too. Other than that...you get to see some of ur lovable characters from FFVII, mainly Yuffie and ummm... Caith Sith +P...

Overall:

A disappointing game...maybe because our expectations were too high but overall the game was...disappointing...as a game. Story was good...if not great...CG's are a great job done by Square Enix again =D love em...sound was ok...but gameplay... =(
