From the creators of the beloved and highly praised Resident Evil series comes Dino Crisis. Dino Crisis has a strong similarity to the Resident Evil games like the camera angles, the scared out of your pants quality, and of course the survival horror style of gameplay. Dino Crisis centers around a rescue mission to find and rescue a scientist known as Dr. Kirk who has a scientific research facility on an island called Ibis Island. Your team includes Regina, Gail, Rick, and Cooper. You play as Regina, the female protagonist of the game. Gail plays as the veteran soldier as mission leader. Rick plays as a security technician specialist. You don't know who cooper is though. The story starts out with you and your team on a helicopter preparing to parachute onto the island. Once you jump and land on the island only you, Gail, and Rick are present. Gail says we should carry on with the mission and hope to recruit with Cooper later on in the game. The game then cuts to Cooper's situation and it doesn't look good. He has seemed to have landed in the middle of the island jungle, alone. In the distance he can hear footsteps(just like that from the film Jurassic Park). He turns and runs in the other direction to only be outrun by a Tyrannosaurus Rex and be consumed. After it finishes its meal, it roars to the moonlight. Dino Crisis, I would say, is exactly like Resident Evil. Except instead of the living dead it is dinosaurs. There are a few enemys in the game. The one you encounter first, and is the main enemy you'll face throughout the game, is the velociraptor. There are two types of raptors; the Raptor and the New Raptor. The Raptor is the main enemy throughout the game as I said before;the New Raptor is what you will face in the latter half of the game, they are stronger and harder to take down. Use the shotgun primarily or the handgun as a secondary weapon. You will also face the Compsognathus, Compys for short, they are mainly pests and are annoying they don't do much damage; they're just in the way. If they do cause problems use the handgun. You will also face the Pteranodon, which are the devils of the sky. You will only encounter them in a few parts of the game. No weapon is effective, you only have to avoid them. One of the tougher enemys of the ame though are: Therizinosaurus, Therizino for short. The have massive claws which they swipe at you to cause a lot of damage. The shotgun or the grenade gun are recommended against this beast. Although in reality the Therizinosaurus is supposed to be a peaceful herbivore. But the main antagonist is the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which you will meet quite often in the world of Dino Crisis; the shotgun is the best weapon to make him back down. Although you do not kill him until the end. You ward him off in the game. The graphics are pretty good for the old-generation console. The sound is excellent to the roars of the dinosaurs to the dialogue of the characters. Capcom has succeeded once again with Dino Crisis. An Excellent Game!
