Digimon World Dawn, and its sister game, Digimon World Dusk seem to be based off of Pokemon games, but in a different way that makes it more fun and challenging. Instead of always 1v1 or maybe 2v2, Digimon world Dawn/Dusk feature 3v1-5(with 3 backups for you.) The Bosses take up 3 zones, thus leading to the 2 zone and 3 zone attacks hitting multiple times. The game Digimon World Dawn and Dusk feature more of a difference to them then(For example) Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Red/Blue, Ruby/Saphire, Gold/Silver. in Pokemon, the only differences are the pokemon you can catch. Dawn/Dusk feature you playing for Different teams, the beginning being different(Dawn you go the bronze tournament B, Dusk you fight some Thriller Ruins opponents) different areas, some areas in Dawn cannot be accessed in Dusk and vice-versa. Emphasis on helping Dragon, Holy, Aqua, and Bird digimon(Dawn) Vs. helping Dark, Beast, Machine. and Insect/plant digimon(Dusk). Also different is in Pokemon, experience is experience, you just need to get enough to get a pokemon to a certain level. while in digimon, Dragon digimon give dragon experience, holy give holy, beast give beast. Each of the 8 species of digimon give their own. and sometimes, certain experience is needed to digivolve to the one you want.
Pokemon you can only give one digimon the nickname once, in digimon, every time they digivolve they can change it. Digimon can degenerate back to a weaker form if you decided to go another way.

I took half a point off for the digivolution not matching to the show exactly. mainly Impmon cannot achieve his true mega form, Beelzemon. in Dawn/Dusk Beelzemon needs to get DNA digivolved from 2 digimon,(in Dusk one can get Beelzemon Blast mode by beating the 2nd last quest in the game)
