Taking a cue from Super Smash Bros., Digimon goes to the PS2. But...
To be honest, I hated this installment, even though it had elements of Super Smash Bros. (which I did not know at the time) what with the more interactive environments and not to mention, a lot more Digimon.
This was the phase of my life when Digimon was getting old. Frankly, we just bought this game hoping it would be as fun in multiplayer as the first one, but for some reason it wasn't (we're enjoying Brawl at the moment). I mean, it was pretty cool the first few times, but I don't know.
Still, if I were to play today, I'd probably enjoy it a lot more than the first one. But it's broken now.
Overall, it's still derivative, but now the concepts come from Super Smash Bros. which means it's a little more unique than other rip-offs, and theoretically a little more fun. I don't know, maybe I should try it again since it has been 3 years since we last played it.
