Diddy Kong Racing first debuted 13 years ago, and still to this day, it hold up to its prime.

For the presentation, Diddy Kong Racing just begs you to play it. It looks cute and fuzzy, however, what awaits you in the further levels is a real challenge. I was surprised at the amount of difficulty some of the coin races were! But during the beginning, it's quite easy. So it's cute for kids, and challenging for adults. Everybody wins.

The Graphics are a bit of a step down from previous titles that have been released. Super Mario 64 had the most gorgeous visuals, and that game was released a year earlier. Then again, graphics don't make a game, but they could be a little better.

The music and sound is another one of Rare's strong spots. This game delivers memorable tunes throughout every course, and the voice acting is superb for a game from 1997.

Now to the Gameplay. This game is mostly for racing, however it features a surprisingly long single player adventure. If you are just looking for car racing, this game is not for you. You get to choose from 3 different vehicles, (Car, Hovercraft, Plane) and on each world there are new challenges.

This will still remain one of the Nintendo 64's greatest gems. After giving it a spin I've realized that some of the best games can be one's that you haven't touched for ages. And well, I tend to be that way. Older games are the greatest, and new games can't live up to the magic that these older ones give us.
