Blizzard really likes making baby steps huh? I guess it works in there favor when they release Xpacs. Dungeon Seige 3 looks better then this. PSO II > Diablo III

ummmm... first off wow just wants me to get it more. second off greatest going to be greatest dungeon crawler of all time.
I fully plan to buy this game when it comes out, might even buy the collectors edition. The people saying "nope not gonna play its online only" are just hating cause they can't bot anymore. Good riddance, we real gamers don't need you around!
@DarthMaximus you're damn right. But lets be honest there's no need for that sh1t off all-time internet connection. No to mention the privacy issues that it may lead to, as many other companies as EA is fallowing Blizzard security measures.
#Darkmaximus What is the problem? because its all online? i know you cant be talking about the classes because only new class i see is the monk and witch dr, not worth not buying simple as that. Unless of course you were one of the people who cloned gear and made money off of it i dont see any other reason, just the fact that you cannot anymore =)
Oh and again, I am not knocking Blizzard, they did bring us Diablo and Diablo II after all. They have every right to do what they want and to make money from their game, I would have rather of paid $20 more upfront for each copy than to have online only and AH stuff like this... If there were not so many game choices out there I might consider it, but there are many, many game choices. When it comes to D3... I am just HIGHLY disapointed and expressing as much.
@jasonzilla11, Sorry but no need to. I have been playing Diablo since the original. One of the copies was mine, the other 3 were for the better 1/2 and the kids. There are plenty of games I can purchase as gifts, this will not be one of them. Blizzard has every right to do whatever they want with the game and I am not going to fault them, they just made a product I no longer want and there is plenty of competition for my money. When a couple of my friends found out about this and I told them I was not getting it, they claim they won't either (at least 1 will probably get it anyways) . My brother said if I am not getting neither is he nor 2 of kids... now it's up to 8 or 10 copies, again more power to Blizzard, I think we will be getting torchlight, my brother sent me a link, looking into it.
Well im slightly impressed :P i like the classes but i hope they have some of the old ones too. I'm saying hope alot lol. but ppl are really looking forward to it
@reavin81 i agree that the over the head view is dead. But whats done is done right? idk i think the over the head view defines diablo, i think it also helps you realize how dark and alone you are. i would buy the game either way!! This game is original and i dont like how they are making it more like WOW.But it still has alot of development to go through hopefully this game WILL be impressive but im not impressed. oh and @reavin81 Tuurrrtles in a half shell turrtle power!!!
@jeffersrox true man but come on although the environment and graphics do look awesome i think it would do far better as in a first person view i think it just gives us a much more rewarding game play and experience don't wrong i loved 1 and 2 the twisted story it had but i think now days overview is dead thats all, and @jeffersrox mad turtles pick lol turtle power
@reavin81 the over the head view is what makes this game different from skyrim and dragon age. ITS NOT A FIRST PERSON GENRE! I just hope they focus on the enviorment as much as they are focusing on the powers. Because the enviorment is what made the game great for me. I grew up with my dad playing Diablo one and two when he had time off, and those games were terrifing to me as a kid lol. With all the caves, noises and darkness.
really.. i like the physics of the game like the rag doll montion of the falling enemies and stuff its not all the same death animations looks pretty awesome
If we are lucky we can hope for a 2011 release. But in reality it will probably be more like 2018. :P
the abillities and combat looks mad but why are they still using that gay high over view take a note from dragon age skyrym i wana be face to face while im fighting
So many Blizzard fanboys on here that will suck up anything they offer. You are better off buying Torchlight 2 which will be far FAR superior to this, without all the annoying features like constantly having to be connected to the internet and no real money auction house. Torchlight 2 also looks better and has better gameplay.
This looks absolutely terrible! Boring repetitive gameplay, bland environments, ugly skills. Reminds me of Titan Quest gameplay and nothing at all similar to the fast paces frenetic Diablo II gameplay. All the former Diablo creators no longer work at Blizzard so anyone with their hopes up will get them shattered.
@DarthMaximus If it's a present to someone, it's not your preferences that matter, it's knowing whoever you're gifting's preferences. Maybe what you should do is show him/her a couple of the videos and news, and see how he/she thinks of it.
waited a looong time for this, was looking today to pre-order 4 copies for potential xmas presents... started looking around to find out more... online only for SP, no co-op lan, don't like the classes at all... What would have been probably $200+ in sales quckly turned to $0 in sales. Man am I glad I looked around a bit 1st... Sorry Blizzard on this one, but no sale.
Also @foiduenigma I think they were using the monk's lower level abilities because some of the other ones I saw on monk gameplay videos were pretty killer.
I like the skill the witch doctor has where he tosses that jar and a huge spider comes out of it. And pretty much everything the barbarian did looked sick. I always did love the barbarian. I don't really care that much about the RMAH thing, but I still signed the petition for offline singleplayer mode. Look around on some of the videos i posted a link on most of them if you're interested. Otherwise i'm totally syched for this game!
I don't care to D3 haters. I'll definitely buy this game and teach my girlfriend to play, else I'm gonna loose her!
Visually it's nothing mind blowing, but I think I notice an improvement from older gameplay footage, so that's definitely a good thing. The art style is excellent though.
@moc5 RMAH is a good idea, not a bad one. It's basic economics, kiddos. The reason D2 turned into an ebay exploitation was because the in-game system of trade made it difficult to find and trade the items that you wanted. It was primitive. Ebay became a source for sales because it was the easiest way to obtain those items. In a game where soul-binding items doesn't make sense for the genre, RMAs are GOING to happen, whether you like it or not; so Blizzard did the RIGHT thing and decided to give the players a controlled outlet for RMAs. They aren't doing it so that they can make more money. I'm sure the cost of implementing the system will far outweigh the minimal fees they are going to charge for it. They are doing it for the players.... to protect them. I, for one, think it's smart. Frackin smart.
Oh yeah, when this is out it`s bye-bye friends, bye-bye social life - hello Geektown!...for another decade or such! *happy dance*
RMAH's suck, yes. We all agree, I think, on that but please consider this. If Game makers cant get the money back for all the time and hard work they put in to making a great game (instead of what many game DEVs are doing these days) becuz people steal they're work, then how likely do you think they'll bother trying to make the best game they can? Not bloody likely! The bottom line: Security is necessary to continue making great games.
@Tripwolf You have to realize 3 things. 1. The main problem in Diablo II and WoW is botters/spammers for gold websites where they use a lot of resources to maintain. 2. The RMAH is going to make it so duping would be very profitable making nothing into money. 3. The main way people duped in diablo II was through the single player client.
Realistic Graphics... lots of ppl want generic and reallistic feel... I thing the character from Diablo1 and 2 wasn't realistic at all...D3 looks like a rich animated fantasy illustration!! stop complaining about the color or graphics and wait to play and see it running on YOUR PC!... :) btw... I cant wait anymore lol...
I feel like a child waiting for christmas. I've kept checking for updates every day for over a year now heh.
Only thing that concerns me about this gameplay footage is the red outline when (i'm guessing) you target enemies. Just looks really horrible to me and i hope that doesn't make it into the final game or at least you can turn it off.
Hey, how's about NOT playing it if you REALLY think it sucks (me personally I think it's AWESOME). There's no denying that you'll sit here and type up a paragraph on how you hate it, then be completely hypocritical and end up playing it when it comes out.
It's kind of annoying when people say that this game has been in development for too long.. It started development in 2008, and Blizzard is looking to release it late 2011/early 2012. Frankly, for a Blizzard game, that is the typical time for a game of this scale to be developed. I just pre-ordered it today, and I can't wait to get my hands on it, it looks spectacular.
@ThAdEa82 Do you have a copy of the game? I don't know what and how many features blizzard hides for the final moments or for us to explore ourselves.
This is sad - it's like revisiting Bioware's Icewind Dale and NWN...a decade later. What OS do I play this on, Windows 98?
anyone who says this game is crap and uninteresting is a bunch of losers who need to go get a computer and experience all that is Blizzard Gaming
