"We also didn't want the player to spend a lot of time banging on an anvil when they should be out killing things." - Jay Wilson] Final Fantasy XlV Online has a LOT to learn from Blizz.
Great to see they're adding some intelligently thought out features to a working system that keeps it simple yet, so far, open for the player to some degree. Nicely done Blizzard!
@Nokia3230 I've heard that, but you know the expansion will have a familiar face or two. Last time with LoD they added the Assn and Druid, so maybe this time they bring some old ones back. With how popular the Paly and Zon were, and how much Blizz is into fan service, I have a hard time believing they won't be a part of this eventually...
@PixelAddict Blizzard have already stated that they won't be bringing any more d1 or d2 characters back in d3. Only The barb. However they said they might consider some familiar character classes for future DLC...
@khimeron13 Check the inventory and also artisan's selling board, you'll see that familiar scroll of ID... saw Cain part way through the video, too. I suppose he might ID some things for you as well. Blizzard likes to carry small touches like that over, I think. Also, I hope it's Amazon, too. One of my best HC chars was a high level Amazon with godly gear (all found, never duped). Which brings me to my next point, duping. DESTROYED the economy. Don't know if there's any way to prevent it, but after D2 and WoW, I gotta think they have some ideas.
@AdamWriter I just asked a question... Seriously, WTF?! You actually think THAT's anal? Wait till you're married. *sigh* It's just not worth commenting here. You can thumb down my QUESTIONS all you want. Have a nice day. =) What a stupid f***ing community!
@JoePinasi1989 Did you think that maybe bringing things from a popular game into another game of similar formula is a good thing? If you like pie, ice cream and whipped cream, are you just going to have the pie and ice cream, while wishing you had some whipped cream? Hell no. Transferring some things from WoW to Diablo II can be a good thing. For example, I think they are giving rage points to barbarians instead of mana. I personally like this (if i noticed correctly) because it seperates it from the actual mana using classes and really shows it in a class of its own, if that makes any sense. Lastly, if you're going to be as anal as that as far as looking for things that are wrong with the game then maybe you should stay away.
@Petruvai I didn't play Diablo 1 but I played 2 a while back, though I was a novice of the PC gaming then and Diablo just wasn't very appealing to me. I played Starcraft more. @Morons-who-thumbed-down-my-comment-for-whatever-reason I was just asking a question. Thumbing down that comment was... just... STUPID, HARE-BRAINED and IDIOTIC! Now thumb me down so I can win a bet!
does anyone know what the last class will be. I was guessing it would be something like the amazon, a character who can use mostly ranged weapons and some melee weapons.also, i wish they would keep the town portal, and do they still have identification.
@jacsoccer_7 As far as I can see, this game will run even better than Starcraft 2, but I honestly don't know how many monsters will Blizzard put in the same room... probably a lot.
Since the first Barbarian video I have seen, it looks like Blizzard has done a lot of work on the interface to distinguish Diablo 3 from WoW. Don't get me wrong, WoW's interface was near perfect, but some people want variety or just outright hate WoW.
@ JoePinasi1989 Have you ever played Diablo I or II? If not, that would explain your confusion. Diablo III doesn't look like WoW, WoW looks like Diablo. It's an easy mistake to make, so don't feel bad.
@tripwolf Lol, you gotta be kidding. I recently played Diablo 2 for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I haven't played much else sense then. Diablo 2 is a timeless game.
Why is this so reminiscent of WoW? Hell even the "x" for closing the window is just like WoW's... *Why the Hell is this being buried? It's just AN EFFING QUESTION! *sigh* Gotta love the internets...
@kewl_guy have you ever played diablo 2 before? if you did you would know that, graphically, armor is unique for every class, and changes according to the given class aesthetical style.
i seriously cant wait for this game to release although i am expecting it to be out sometime in 2011 , and i agree with the dude that said this game looks artistically great rather than in a technical way.
am i the only one that is bummed that the equipment does not show on the character? The weapons change, but i want a sweet suit of armor to show. They will probably add that later...I hope
Wow, Diablo 3's graphics looks like a painting. I hope more people will recognize artistic graphics over technical. Oh, and I am glad that those goat-man 'Clans' return! I used to hate them though.
This doesn't seem that much more than the artisans in Diablo I & II. Maybe they didn't call them artisans, but they did essentially watered down versions of what these artisans will do. In other words, it's not a new idea, it's just elaborating on an idea from the other games. Not that I'm complaining, though. I loved everything about Diablo I & II.
