Remember when Diablo was the BEST GAME EVER? The ideal of mainstream has ruined another great game.

Diablo 1. AMAZING, REVOLUTIONARY, ADDICTING, DIFFICULT, ALL CONSUMING!

Diablo 2 took Diablo 1, expanded upon it... more classes, more skills, attempts to be more epic, but nurfed a little. Still, all in all, it was a classic, with enough depth and difficulty to be a great game ten years later. Broken in some ways... but a worthy successor to the original Diablo.

Diablo 3. F ME, I spent how much on this game?

The developers of Diablo 3 forgot to add the soul of Diablo into this third instalment. The game is too easy in the beginning, and feels like a cheap Diablo clone, not a new Diablo masterpiece.

The first Diablo has few customization options. It did not need it. The game made you squirm with the NEED to get back in the dungeon to find more and better loot to get stronger and better able to survive. It made you NEED to bring back EVERY BIT OF TRASH LOOT YOU FOUND; because when you didn't Wirt would have the most awesome item you ever saw... and you would be 100 gold shy of the 36,000 gold you needed.

Diablo 2 brought in the skill tree system. That is what allowed the game to thrive for so long. So many builds... so many options, and the loot was still very important.

Diablo 3 took away the driving need to get back in to find new loot. Made trash loot truly trash loot, and removed all character uniqueness.

So I ask myself this... what am I playing for? I don't remember, I stopped playing the game over two weeks ago, and the thought of logging in again to play has me feeling bored before I even begin.

Sorry Diablo 3, you lost your soul, and soul is everything.
