To say that I wasn't looking forward to this game would be a lie; When I was young I spent some of the days playing Diablo 2 with friends. We'd get cool items; boost each other to the dizzying heights of level 99. Then I reached the peak of the game! I had an assassin with all the set items!! Then I got "hacked" and some F***wit stole all my stuff. But so good was this game I said no matter I can get them again. Then I got hacked, and rage quit.

Years Later, I have a proper job, a girlfriend (shock) and an I phone. Then Diablo 3 came out. Happy face until I slipped in the **** Graphics; good but, I did struggle to make the distinction between 2 and 3; I know they must be better but I don't care enough to look harder. I can see if I'm hitting someone (which you would).

Game play; you point and click and sometimes you may shift click to stay still and shoot! Some key bashing is required. (Especially when you are going to die and your health potion has a 30 second cool down) How the F**K do you drink with an enemy axe in your head I don't know.

Online; you don't have a choice, but who cares. However the best thing about D2 was the team play. Now here is my gripe. It makes things easier to go it alone. All enemies have a modifier depending on number of people playing. This modifier should feel seamless between the numbers of people playing. I hate playing it on my own but sometimes it's just easier and a hell of a lot quicker. I feel like i'm being penalised for teamwork.

Items; Case study. I am blizzard. I made WOW; I have monthly subscription from WOW, Happy. WOW getting old, subscribers going. Need new game, Old Diablo was good. But need subscribers. Can't do that because Diablo based on hoarding items . I know I'll charge people for items! Blizzard Happy! Rich gamers happy! I am not happy. Replayability: Massive if you like hoarding and are willing to put in the time (160hrs+ over 6 months and 3 useless uniques). Summary: In the end it's not enough. All the good of Diablo 2 has been thrown to wind. Yes it's more secure but to be honest I just enjoyed D2 more. The items were rare in D2 but not winning the lottery rare in D3 and even then the yellow items are better in most cases then their purple equivalent. I wanted to love it so bad i ignored the bad press on their forums. The story is good, graphics are good, there are funny bits and if you keep at it you will eat up time. But it doesn't reward you.

I gave it a 6 because it is a good game, but, it reminds me of how good Diablo 2 was, and that is a long time to think "hey, Diablo 2 did this bit better, I miss Diablo 2 *sniff* like i miss school holidays and things to watch on TV *sniff*".
One last thing, Think of this; you work 9 hours a day earning 5 Quid (real money) an hour. In 32 hours you would earn enough to buy a good sword in this game. Now a Mr Money bag wipes his arse with 100 quid. And bought a mithril muppets costume, Think of that and play the game.
