Please point out where I mention D3 in my post. I was talking about PoE's passive skill tree, which reminded me of FFX's sphere grid. There are FFX guides which advice you which path to take for each character in that game, i.e. cookie cutter builds. That's where that "So much for diversity..." was aimed at.
It would help if you put some thought into your reply.

And so will D3. Don't know what you're trying to imply there. And since when is it forbidden to play (or like, like) more than one game within a genre? It's not like they're mutually exclusive...
PoE sure has potential, but treating it like it is the second coming of Christ is a bit OTT at the moment, with those future balance changes you mentioned.
Bottom line: I'll try it once it has left beta and if I like it then I'll play it. If not I won't.

You can actually dodge lightning bolts in poe, yes there is a certain level of skill involved.
You need some sort of skill to gem your gear and navigate the skill tree.
Its not a mindless game like d3, you have to use your noodle, thats why most old school gamers like it over d3.
POE = vanilla, bc wow
D3 = wrath , cata , pandaland wow

PoE is in beta and is free. Diablo 3 has been out for 8 months and is $60.
And I never said that that was a knock against Diablo 3. So I'm not sure why you thought it was. Diablo 3 is fundamentally flawed. I'm not going to point to balance issues, because that's just stupid.
