The best way to rate a game is to play it. I'm pretty sure most of the people who don't like this game and are vocal about it have played it.

Perhaps. The name alone would guarantee that no matter the subpar product
Diablo 3 surely was very popular in the online gaming world, mainly due to the massive hate it received due to its perceived lack of greatness. The official Diablo 3 forums for quite along time had all the top posts being negative toward the game. (and maybe now?)
Considering it is a Diablo game it should be in the top 10. Can it stay on the top 10 like LOD did for years and years? I very very much doubt it.
Diablo 3 did not get better, but it is not awful. I found Torchlight 2 to be superior in almost every way except graphically and no closed net doesn't bring the same dynamic.
Is Diablo 3 a good game? Sure. It is a Great game? Not for me, but I can see that. It is objectively not a very good Diablo game.

Not really, can't get invaded while doing co-op in MH to change things up, and farming is just farming, which is more dependent on other things to make it fun, like gameplay. Which is better in DS.

I concur with OP. This is the best current ARPG, unless you categorize Dark/Demon's souls as an ARPG. Then this is 2nd.
