Diablo II is a follow-up to the game Diablo, the game is an dark hack 'n slash RPG and that is to kill Diablo and his brothers, plus a host of other demons to save the world away evil. Released for Windows and Mac OS in 2000 by Blizzard Entertainment. The game can be played both in singelplayer and multiplayer (both over LAN and over the Blizzard Battle.net).

In April 2001 Diablo II had become one of the most popular online games ever. Much as may have contributed to the game's success is Blizzard Battle.net where it is most people who play and the player's hunt for the game "items" (weapons, shields, armor, etc).

The game was expanded in 2001 with the expansion, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, and is now in version 1.12a since June 2008.

A third game, Diablo III was published on the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008 in Paris in June 28, 2008

ame Environment in Diablo II is ISOMETRIC and the player's character is always in the middle of the screen. The lower edge of the screen for information on how much life and Mana (energy) has the character and the abilities to use. The player controls his character with the mouse and can use the keyboard to quickly be able to perform various tasks, such as switching between different abilities, access the information window and more.

The first player gets to do is create a character. You can choose between five different classes; Amazon, Barbarians, Sorceress, Necromancer, and Paladin. All have access to different abilities and are best suited for different situations. In the expansion, Lord of Destruction adds two classes; Druid and Assassin.

The game is based on a so-called level system that goes from level one to 99. When the player kills a monster he may experience points. After receiving enough points is the character to the next level and can then choose a new character or be better at any of the already chosen and deploy five skill points. Skill points are distributed between the various skills such as strength, endurance and strike resistance. Central to the game and directly dependent on skills and skill points are the so-called Builds, ways to place the score. Each class has its own Builds and with time the players have discovered the most effective depending on the character.

The action in Diablo II is divided into four different acts, where you in the last act finally confronts Diablo. In each opportunity based player from a city where he will receive various missions or Quest, which he must go on, it can be anything from killing a certain monster to put together a magic wand. Although not all tasks are necessary, many offer rewards more skill points or runes. In each act there is a "boss" which must be dead to get to the next opportunity.

There are also three different difficulty levels in Diablo II, although these four acts, the various levels are Normal, Nightmare and Hell. Players must manage Normal first to get to Nightmare, and then you have to cope Nightmare to go to Hell. In Nightmare and Hell is the game much more difficult when the player will be weakened and lose experience when dying. Patterns become more dangerous and in Hell, all monsters immune to any of the elements contained in the game. When the player creates a character, he can choose to play Hardcore, which means that if the character dies, so the game stops, unlike Soft Core where the character can die as many times as you want.
