Who ever thought beating the tar out tons of monsters could be so fun!

The Diablo battle chest is such a great value. Now the score doesn't come from just the games. The score comes from the whole package. The package includes the original diablo computer game and diablo two with the expansion pack.As if thats not enough you also get all the game manuals, for part one you have to get it off of the disk and it even comes with the ultimate diablo two strategy guide from brady games that comes in real handy. The battle chest cost around 40$ though, so you have to ask your self if thats a value. To me it is as you get two games and an expansion pack that adds tons more content to part two.

Now lets start with the original diablo. You play as a character that can be a warrior, a rouge or a sorceror. Now the warrior is more combat, the rouge is more ranged and combat and the yes the sorceror is pure spell caster. After you pick what it is you want to be you then start to explore this town called Tristram. In this town strange things are taking place in an under ground area and your the hero who answers the call.

You'll go down level by level and just beat the tar out of tons of enemies and level up along the way. When you level you'll get to place some stat points.Your goal is just to become more powerful and get gear and stuff and finaly face diablo himself.

All dungeons are random so the next time you play, you'll go through the same dungeon but it won't have the exact same lay out as last time. This and the classes you can choose helps with the replay value.Even though the game is short. You will have some fun with it but its an old game anyways right!

Anyways on to DIABLO 2! Part two improves on the original game in every way you can think of.It seems like much the same at first and when you get into to it you'll realize that the core is still intact but they made a ton of improvements.

To start with your no longer confined to just one place where everything takes place. You'll journey across tons of locations and battle many enemies. This helps give the game more variety which in turn holds your attention much better than the first game did.

The next thing they did was added many more new classes. Now you can pick from a host of classes and since the battle chest comes with the expansion you get even more choices. You can pick a assassin, barbarian, amazon warrior, necromancer, paladin, sorceress, and a druid. Now thats a lot all in itself but factor in the skill trees and the characters are way more in depth than the first game. You can work a character in many different ways. This combined with the new locations give the game some real hefty replay value.

Not to mention you can take it online as well. This is even better but if reading this now I must warn you. That while the game still has a decent online community you will often end up in a game where its more like a chat room more often then you want.So its better to have some actual friends to play online with.I played a few games so far where people just wanted to play the game and it was really fun.Still like I said I have ran into tons of games where people were just fooling around.Another warning about the online part is watch out for cheaters. As the game is free too play online you'll come across way more cheaters than you would in a game you pay to play such as The world of warcraft.

Yet another cool aspect about the game is gear.Yes this adds some more depth and you'll find your self trying to piece together sets of armor that empower your character.

So diablo two with the expansion pack is great and I must warn you these games can be very and I mean very addicting. The plus side here is that unlike world of warcraft you don't pay to play it and although its not updated with new content like wow and theres way more cheaters online, you can't really gripe because its all free. You will also have some real fun if you choose to take part in all the game has to offer.

Then if thats not enough already you get the manuals to diablo two and the expansion and yes the strategy guide. The manuals speak on their own and I must say these are some of the best and most helpful game manuals ever made. Then the Ultimate strategy guides packs in so much info that you'll never get lost.

So for 40$ you get two great complete games with a wealth of info on how to play them. This one is a no brainer. There is not very many cons with the games other than some of the online functions but these don't really have much to do with the game itself. These have more to do with the people playing them.

You can't really go wrong here. For 10$ less than a new game you get so much stuff that you'll be playing the diablo battle chest for months to come!
