DMC is the bastard child of Resident Evil. Infact the game has been developed by Capcom Production Studio 4, the same minds that brought to you RE(original and remake) and RE4.
In its structure the game is resident evil at core because it maintains typical visual perspective you can remember proper in RE ps1 series.
Camera angle fixed when you enter a room along that sensation of unsecureness that made great its progenitor.
However to this approach we have this time a new approach, the action, joined.
This time you can for first make jumps and if you touch walls during your jumps, you can jump again! Fantastic, this move is really outstanding.
You can move your character everywhere and this time you can choose if attacking enemies with your dual guns (that is useful because as you can remember from RE Code Veronica you can aim two different foes the same time) or, and this is new thing, melee combat with your demon sword.
Useless to say you can combine this kind of attack to your will and realize amazing and spectacular moves, often the beginning of a combo, if you know the way to use your blade and alternating to guns.
All this represents a departure from original resident evil. It isn't bad at all, it is that great.
During your adventure you can collect orbs from dead undead foes, acting as money, to get power ups often necessary to overcome some levels, in particular i reckon untouchable makes you invincible to enemies attacks and demon at the same time for a limited time period.
And here we come to greatest feature this game keeps, Devil trigger, transforms dante in a superpowerful demon that makes him to perform unique moves based on
demon power activated due to demon weapons you can collect progressively.
In particular Alastor if actived affords to Dante, the starring character, to fly around and to launch electric shocks to your enemies for time it lasts.
Gameplay is really stand-out, game is hard until you can master but really rewarding when you can master it offering hours hours of hack'n slash and shooting.
Sound is pretty good, graphics is gorgeous and story is fluid and interesting.
At the end we are in front of a real masterpiece that put basis to other great series all know as god of war.
A game born from another game, become unique and legendary deserfully and without doubt to add to your PS2 collection, being one of th best!
My vote reflects perfectly GSone, 9.1 amazing

DMC it's so hard that can be really annoying, but awesome gameplay, story and occasionally great camera effects save it.
