Devil May Cry HD Collection offers you 3 classic games that define the hack-and-slash genre. Still, is it worth it?

To be honest, the only reason I bothered to write this review was because the collection was getting hardly any attention. Despite bringing three of Capcom's greatest in HD, few people actually got this. Why?
Firstly, the DMC fanbase has always been relatively small compared to those of other classic series (i.e. MGS, FF, even Capcom's own MegaMan). The eccentricity of the game and the high difficulty level has warded away many casual gamers. Speaking of the difficulty level: if you didn't know, DMC 3 is one of the hardest games ever developed, and it is considered to be the best in the series. The other 2 games included in this package are similarly difficult, but pretty bad.
Secondly, the HD Collection does not offer much. Sure, it revives the original three games, but it keeps all their problems. As IGN mentioned so fervently, there are camera issues with each game that pose problems for today's gamers. If Capcom was more serious about this, they should have included an advanced camera system for each game. Konami did it with MGS 3, why couldn't you? Also, the HD Collection did not add much to the game. Ooh, pretty textures... yeah. The resolution of the textures are a bit better, and that justifies a $40 price tag. Most gamers probably would not even notice the difference!
As for gameplay, yeah it's still the good old DMC with all its hectic hack-and-slash action. The plot still sucks, but I did not expect Capcom to change that. Dante, Vergil, Lady, Trish, etc are all back with their insane personalities, and the weapons you knew and loved remain the same.
All in all, if you're just getting this game if you thought Dante looked cool in MvC3, you're gonna have a bad time. If you're a DMC veteran who has been waiting all his life for a HD remaster, then high five. I actually got this for the nostalgia lols, and received none when I got my butt handed to me by the first boss in DMC3. I regret nothing.
I have a little peeve with the game: the opening screen. Capcom literally copy-and-pasted three Dantes on a cute little backdrop for the main screen, and maintained the title screens for the individual games. Could you have made it any uglier? At least add some decent music or a little animation somewhere!
