I'm a fan of the DMC series and I thought I would have that be known before I start this review. Gameplay: It's fast, it's strong, it has attitude. That is the best way to describe how this game plays. In terms of actual combat it's a lot like it's predecessors, it's very simplistic but fun and addicting. The newest and best change(imo) is the introduction of a "style" system. This is basically just a selection for which type of moves you will be able to take into a mission. From dashing in the air to guarding or using your guns in awkward ways, this is what the core of the style system is. The styles you choose level up over kills(?) and gain new abilities. This adds more than just hacking and slashing all day. There are also new weapons and more of them. They all can be upgraded in some way and the diversity is done very well. The story is very interesting as the brothers Dante and Virgil clash for no apparent reason. At least it starts that way... Difficulty: I put this as a separate section so people wouldn't get confused. The game has been labeled as extremely difficult. In some ways it is but not so to completely stop one-self from completing the game. I think once you acuire a certain amount of experience playing, it all comes easy from there on out. The boss battles are tough, as in most require you to be patience, which no-one likes. Graphics: There is some jag here and there. It shows more often than you would imagine. There is no slow down, which is great for the speed at which the combat flows. The cinematics aren't the best I've seen but they are an improvement compared to the other titles in the series. Sound: The sound is Amazing. The Soundtrack is awesome, the songs fit the game like a glove. The sounds of fighting and background noises come out clear as day. This really helps during combat as the enemies pile around you. Value: The difficulty might be a turn off to light-hearted gamers but to fans of the series It's nothing. Even to non-fans of the DMC series this game is well worth it's cost. So far it's one of the best action games ever. Tilt: I'm a fan of the series and I like this game. I really enjoy it and think fans of the series will be impressed by the improvements made to the DMC name.
