If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen!
The first thing i want to touch on is the difficulty. Some people say that the difficulty was too hard, others say it was just right, i must agree with those that thought it was just right. I have been looking for a game to actually test my mental and gaming abilities and this is the first game to do that in awhile. This game is FUN because of the gameplay, not the story or the innvotion/revolutionary new crap, this game is a fast-paced down to the millisecond hack-n-slash.
Having played and beaten DMC1 on all of its difficulties I obviously had some previous skill in the DMC series, but that did not really help me at all, in DMC 1 you had to dodge normal attacks and attack an enemy in their weakspot, learn tactics to beat mutliple enemies and that type of thing. What is new about DMC 3 that makes that so hard? i honestly found DMC 3 enjoyfull and not hard. When i compare this game to Ninja Gaiden's difficulty, i find them to be about even. The only thing that is harder is that you do not have a cheap way to block everything...aka holding down a trigger. DMC 3 is going to make you work for every level and boss and if you don't like it or simply can't adapt to the game, then stop playing it. This game is for the real players, and i believe capcom has created a masterpiece.
As for technical things, i thought the graphics were great, at times the action is so fast you can't really tell whats going on, and sometimes the camera and enviroment make determining where you are a little hard at times but overall its great. The sound was done well. The guns sound great and all of the music is very fitting for the game.
The system of battle of great. Using different fighting styles allows for customization throughtout the game, and being able to switch instantly from weapon to weapon creates massive combonations of gun and gun/gun and weapon moves.
The worst flaws in this game are maybe having to backtrack a few times in it, and maybe not as many water cooler moments one would have liked.
Other then that, this game is great for those willing to play a challenging game that you can't beat in 5 hours like 90% of todays lame video games.
