a great game, that mostly looks like an interactive novel...
I guess the graphic engine is not the strongest side of the game: I have experienced several graphical issues, along the game, texture quality is not a big deal either.... Backgrounds are just low res images put behind 3d content... all these staff is pretty sad, but I think, despite all the issues, the graphic engine is good enough to create an appropriate atmosphere for the game, so we could "skip" some flaws...
The part of DeusEx which makes it almost a "masterpiece" is its awesome gameplay and intrinsic story... Everything is well designed and balanced: characters, non linear gameplay which gives a possibility to choose either one end or another, different locations and many other stuff, which make DeusEx highly immersive and addictive game, from the beginning to the end.
Additionally, gameplay has some elements, that make the player to thing before to do something: engage an enemy is not always a good idea.
In order to finish, I will say that DeusEx is a really great game, despite some flaws, which are not a big deal, beside a great gameplay and story...
