Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the long-awaited successor to the classic cyberpunk game series.
@Starshine_M2A2 The whole point of him being a "mechanical protagonist" is having the option to choose what abilities he wants to use. What you are saying is contradictory to what a Deus Ex game is.
its great to see some pictures of this game everytime - this game looks really promising. Does anyone know if its possible to explore levels and find extra stuff?
The CGI really overshadows the in-game graphics, unless the CGI is actually in-game from the PC version, lol. Any-who I am still very much interested in this game and will make up my mind closer to its release, expecting a demo as well.
@mikey1611 lol relax, mate. It ws just a joke. I post daft messages like that all the time. Maybe i should stop...
@SpaceDesperado I believe they were referring to the nature of the story. A mechnical portagonist wouldn't be equipped with the ability to choose.
Ironically, choice plays a big part? Go play the original or know some more information before you do a preview for this franchise
@peterfaj You didn't get it right either. It's 'rip off' with two 'f's. People in glass houses and whatnot...
Cannot wait for this its looking top notch.... The dev's even added the inventory back from the first game. great stuff. I hated the fact that a pep bar took up the same space as a sniper rifle in the second game it was just stupid. I just hope the console version is not watered down.
@Taffelost I agree with you about the dissapointment with PC games. We PC players don't get the attention we used to have. But don't you think that this intense race for better graphics are making games less fun? I still play Time Commando, MDK, Duke Nukem 3D, Carmageddon, Commandos Behind Enemy lines, Sim City 3000, Half Life, CS 1.6. Those games dont have good graphics, but they are fun to play. I think that games have lost the fun factor since the worry about graphics seems to be the main concern about most game developers. I like good graphics, I loved to play COD, for example, but it doesn't feel fun anymore. I'm not sure if i made myself clear... but that's my point : )
Everything is looking great so far, I really hope this next entry delivers story/gameplay I've come to expect from the series.
@macaque12 I'm an old man. I've had computers since the very early 80's. That means I'm very familiar with the Original Deus Ex. Saying graphics doesn't matter on a FPS controlled game doesn't go very far with me. This is 2011 and I demand more of a AAA title than that. I was thoroughly dissapointed with the gfx of both Dragon Age 2 and Crysis 2. Does graphics matter in a game like DA2? No not really but I got dissapointed anyway. The devolution of PC games has to end soon. I hope.
@techpunk It is pronounced "Day-us Ex". About the actual game, I absolutely love the design and the world this game takes place. Not even mentioning all the choices and augmentations and whatnot, the world design alone looks like it'll be quite an experience! Cannot wait!
Practically no gameplay. This is more like a 'homemade' story trailer made from prerendered trailer footage instead of an actual preview. Still, a nice video.
I really hope that the philosophical side of it is not forgotten. That is what stayed with me from DE all these years.
this game does look pretty sick. This reason why I got so excited when this game was first announced is because the first Deus Ex has such an great story that really sucked me in. Regardless of how fun or innovative this game is, it needs the story to be strong, exciting, and I need to be sucked in again.
Nothing we haven't seen before, but that's not bad. This game looks amazing. The gameplay that's been described sounds fantastic, now it's just a matter of the story, characters, and gaming world matching up to this. I sure hope it does, cause we need more Deus Ex games in this day and age. DE:IW was a pretty lackluster sequel, albeit not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. The original needs a worthy successor, and if this game is anywhere near what the original was, then it will be GOTY.
Games u may like column is now useless, i understand the promoted stuff, but just because this gaming is coming soon doesnt mean i will like every gaming coming soon, i may like this sort of game therefore i should get similar games based on the game not release date which has nothing to do with my desire for a game, dont start failing me now gamespot,
Hope the conversations have actual consequences. My only problem with the first game, no matter what you chose to say the NPC would say the same thing.
