cant wait for this game. i remember playing the last one when i was younger and most of the ideas were way beyond my simple education lol. looking forward to this one
Thats music is epic. Is that just music for gdc or is it actually from deus ex? heres hoping its the latter...
Oh, and Drugskill nailed it. I was so excited for AvP, more so than I had been for any game in the few years prior, and it was seriously the biggest MFin' pile of a game, no one saw it coming.... And now this game! The fire has been rekindled. I can't wait for it. The same month as my birthday in 2011. Do. Not. Fnck! This! Up!
Holy hell that man can talk forever!
A videogame about transhumanism, awesome. I MUST know the name of the background music.
looks intresting
It has it listed here as sci-fi first-person shooter but other things I have read described this game as an action RPG. The official website says lots of choice is involved and that there are multiple endings, so hopefully it will have heavy RPG elements along with shooting.
This is going to kick!
Day-us Ex huh?? WTF is that?
On a side note, if that game fails to my expectations as AvP did, I will really lose all fate I had left in the gaming industry. Please guys at Eidos Montreal, pull this one of as the greatest game of the decade. With the IP in your hands and the freshness from a newly born studio within you, you have the potential to accomplish it. Keep up the good work.
The guy is just super excited about the game, and is also a bit nervous to do an interview, thus why he is mumbling. I would see that as a great sign for what is to come. Rarely devs are so excited about their own games. They just hype it though their words but don't seem that excited about it most of the time.
sounds like a great fps version of prototype, with a proper gun mechanic, looking forward to it .
tha...that..at.thatt this guy can mumble, game sounds fun and so does the visuals i hope this guy has made this game look sweet. still funny guy.
Note to self: the line of coke you're tempted to do before an interview is NOT a good idea...and stay away from the the word "stuff"...
hummm. Deus Ex became just another shooter it seems...
@jimbo-45 I got to agree completely man. By the look of this interview he really seemed to care and not only that but also seem to engaged to the story and the storytelling overall since he was talking alot about how the researched for information and other stuff they could use in the game's story. On an other note, I'm incredibly psyched for this game, as I were to the previous Deus Ex games. :D
Gotta say, I was worried when I saw Square-Enix on this. They make awesome games, but they don't make Deus Ex games. Now it's sounding like it's just gonna be everything I loved about the first two Deus Ex games with souped up Square-Enix graphics and visuals. Works for me!
day of sex...
Just remember Gamespot gave Deus Ex 1 8.2 and Deus Ex 2 8.0. This tells me that can't tell a classic from a dud even after they have played it, let alone now, when there is no code!
Its always good when they care about the games that they are making and he really seemed like he cared.
great interview cant wait for e3!
For once we had a real good interview. I mean he didn't mash his words, he told everything he could. No sentences turned around and around to avoid answering. His answeres were actually longer than the questions xD. No seriously this guys loves what he does. Can't wait for his baby to be released ! Only thing that worries me a bit is where he said he cut down on the realistic details to focus on the characters. I mean I don't mind that one single bit. I just hope it doesn't mean they didn't push the graphisms as far as they could. I enjoy story and gameplay over graphisms sure. But Deus ex is such a big game for me. That I wouldn't mind having it all :). Story, sound, gameplay, background, cool dialogues, and awesome graphisms :). I don't mind if my pc can't play it to the fullest, this is probably a game I will replay again and again regularly for years to come !
"You will have upgrades, which you can later upgrade"haahhahaha,AWESOME,LOVIN IT!!!!!!!!!
blah blah blah cmon just post a gameplay video
Ok I'm liking the look of HR more and more but I just want to point out that the 'awesome metaphors' and juxtaposition of mythology (specifically the Daedalus and Icarus myth) with posthuman ideals is not something newfangled to HR. The original Deus Ex used this very myth (two of the A.I.'s are even named Daedalus and Icarus!) to draw similar parallels... I don't like how this guy's insinuating that they went out and researched this fantastic myth and came up with the themes all by themselves. The Icarus/Daedalus stuff is taken straight from DX1.
Well it takes him like, 8 minutes to finally start talking about the game, but it does sound like it might actually be cool. I sure hope they don't ruin it. This is such a good game universe. Now if someone would just make a modern version of SYNDICATE or SYNDICATE WARS!
Deus Ex was a great game but the controlls sucked a little. Deus Ex 2 was ok, a bit easy but still nice. Deus Ex 3 should be a good game however i've had high hopes of several games which almost always was a dissapointment. The only thing they're showing here is just the Deus Ex 3 Trailer, I do not want to see this guy with the Justin Timberlake hat.
I like his accent, dat derre is da game dat we made.
that guy gave me a headache, but good insight conspiracy gaming at it's finest
Visuals aren't everything.
This guy was awesome. I got the whole crazy (in a good way) obsessive artist vibe. Hope the game is more DX1 than DX2. Can't wait for this.
Nice shot of Andreas Vesalius book: 'De humani corporis fabrica' (On the Workings of the Human Body) there at the end! That fits in very well!
Ahhhhhhh I Can't WAIT for this game!!
This dude gave me hope. NICE! And I hope for more awesome metaphors.
hell ya finally +1
This will be a game I actually pre order, and I haven't pre ordered a game since Halo 2. I want now, and I'd like to learn more about it, but sadly this guy truly does sound like microsoft sam so I'll go elsewhere...
I can't wait for it to come out, so happy it's this year- finally!
he talks like microsoft sam!
Did anyone actually sat through the entire 11 minutes of his incoherent drivel? I really look forward to this game, but this guy shouldn't be allowed to do any PR work.
i guess deus ex 3 is cool! happy 2 see a gr8 game frm eidos!
@voyager007 I feel the exact same way. Somehow I think this won't be very loyal to the original though :/
Please have the atmosphere of interactive urban detective d ex1 and less an urban run n gun crysis. question - trench coat or no trench coat? i don't mind the goat, but def keep the shades. Allez Jon Jacques-Belletete! Merci beaucoup! Man, games & trailers have come a long way graphically.
Is Warren Spector doing this deus ex? If not.......... crap! If so.......... frickin' AWESOME! Huge Deus Ex 1 fan. Possibly best PC game ever made. Deus Ex 2 made me a skeptic though. And from the looks of the trailer things aren't looking good for me at least.
This game has piqued my interest. I'm going to have to look at the old ones.
The Deus Ex series has always had one of the most amazing atmospheres and plot in the video game universe. The human race and its obsession with becoming "gods" has always been a powerful idea, even in stories written thousands of years ago. I hope their is a ton of customization options. But I am not diggin the goatee on the dude though. That's enough with the goatees people, they do not look cool, never did, never will, and individuals with said goatees do not look like badasses. Unnecessary finely-combed chin and upper lip hair needs to go; heroes and anti-heroes look more like turds than awesome protagonists with perfectly manicured facial hair. PEACE EVERYONE. and yall take it easy.
DeusEx so niceeee

although the teaser did look very good most of you assume that the game will look like the teaser though it wont, a side from that i do hope that this deus ex would be closer to 1 then to 2... deus ex 1 was simply awesome, deus ex 2 was a pretty weak sequel in my opinion, and hell yes to customization!
i want deus ex now!
Give me Deus Ex or give me Death!!!!!!!!!
