Deus Ex: Human Revolution User Review
- Difficulty:
- Hard
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Revolutionary"
During Human Revolution you will roam around the US, China and parts of Asia completing various tasks for your employer Sariff Industries.
While completing these tasks you find out secrets about Adams past, Sarrif Industries and the industry of human augmentation.
There are plenty of side quests that vary from corporate sabotage, theft of important items and missions to eliminate competition.
Adam Jensen's world is one of mystery and intrigue in a deeply morally questionable technologically advanced world.
Most game play involves taking the stealthy approach to take down enemies and achieve objectives.
However it is possible to complete most of Human Revolution using little or no stealth but enemies will quickly surround you and employ proper combat tactics on the harder difficulty.
Human Revolution is clearly designed to be a "thinking mans" game rather than a run and gun shooter.
This game is a little bit shorter than most Single Player games and I managed to complete the main story and several of the side quests in only a few short hours although I can not put a number on exactly how long it took me to play through, players of Dues Ex and Dues Ex: Invisible war will probably be surprised how quick this game can be played through.
The talent tree in Human Revolution has had a major overhaul since the previous Dues Ex title Invisible War.
Talent trees are now straight forward and directly relate to individual abilities and talents.
There is no-longer a massive game of guessing what your points will affect, it is right there.
The music score is excellent immersing you in the game play.
However I did find the music switching when hostiles were close by to be more of an distraction than a useful game attribute.
In conclusion Dues Ex: Human Revolution is a great game but due to fairly challenging single player game-play and a short main storyline it will not appeal to everyone.
