Combat takes a back-seat to stealth and information-gathering. A solid title with innovative features.

I vaguely remember playing the first Deus Ex on playstation. Because of that, Deus Ex HR was a new and unexpected adventure for me. I waited patiently until a RedBox finally had the title in-stock( I very rarely will spend 60$ on a game I'm not sure I'll love) and when I finally got it, I wasn't disappointed. I had no idea how much RPG elements were incorporated. Heck, I didn't even know it was first-person. The dark vibe reminds me of Blade Runner, and the subtle soundtrack fits perfectly. I love exploring in gaming and Deus Ex allows you to do that. It's very easy to get lost for an hour just trying to look in every locked door and air vent you can find. The shooting mechanic is on par and the cover system is what you would expect. There are a few lingering issues I must admit. First, combat is way to scarce in the first-half of the game. I understand many people will want to remain stealth, but the game is about choice, so it should be more rewarding for people who go guns blazing. The story is also very hard to follow, escpecially when you get your social enhancer and have to watch a little bar rather than listen to the dialogue. Also, the character models are early ps3 generation games. But, The positives heavily outweigh the negatives in this game.
