Let's Rock!

User Rating: 7.5 | Destruction Derby 2 (Platinum) PS
Destruction Derby 2 is a demolition racing game launched in the early lifetime of the PS1.It's graphics nowadays are badly outdated but the fun remained, it didn't dissapeared. The game is mainly characterised by the word anarchy. You have to smash the other cars & stuff like that.
It has 3 modes-Wrecking Races, where you the rankings is the based on the damage that you do to other cars.Stock car mode, where you do normal races & finally the 3rd mode, Destruction Derby where are all the cars fight in a arena, like a colloseum, like gladiators. At the first mode it's very hard to make points, the 2nd mode has a normal difficulty & at the Destruction Derby is total mayhem, you get to survive only a couple of seconds if you get involved in the battle, you have greater chances of survival if you just run away in circles from the other cars.
It has 7 Race Tracks-Pine Hills, Chalk Cannyon, SCA Motorplex, Caprio County Raceway, Black Sail Valley, Liberty City(lol, not Liberty City from GTA:) & The Ultimate Destruction Speedway. The only interesting & fun race track is Chalk Cannyon & maybe Black Sail Valley, the rest of them are quite boring & unninspired. At the last Track, UDS it's a real struggle to stay alive untill the end of the race. The first 4 tracks are unlocked & to unlock the rest you have to Advance in Divisions. There are 4 of them wit 5 Pilots each-Win the division at the end of the season & you advance in the next division. The music is awesome!Pure Rock to bang your head on!Music that games nowadays lack...lol, the old games lack the graphics & the new ones lack the music & the soul & replay value so none of them are complete, lol...just few exceptions of course.DD2 has a great replay value & quite good gameplay. It's made by Psygnosis, the same company that made the Wipeout series & Formula 1 Games. This company is known for making hard games, masochistic.Overal, the real score would be 7.9 but i simply can't give it 8.0 even if nostalgia is involved in my case.
The Bottom Line:
John Cena would love this game...i don't know man, it's weird!Everytime i think of this game, John Cena pops in my head:)
