Though not the easiest game, it can be very rewarding

Destiny, although now considered overhyped and had so many promotions, trailers and promises of an amazing game, it wasn't what it promised. Maybe it has to do with Activision wanting the game to be broken down into expansions that we have to pay for, I don't know. Bungie developed it but Activision published and funded it so I don't know. First I will talk about what's good in this game. What is good in this game is how it looks. The worlds look amazing and from the concept art, it really shows what the artists wanted for the game. Every world looks great, from the moon when you look up and see Earth and the space station, to Venus and staring at jungles and meteor showers followed by thunderstorms. The level design is very well done and it makes me want to explore the planets and the moon on patrol runs every time I play it. There's lots to do but it can be very repetitive and sometimes frustratingly difficult and although that is the case with this game, you do get rewarded with some cool stuff (sometimes). There are also bounties you can earn to get reputation for several groups such as Vanguard, New Monarchy, Future War Cult, Dead Orbit and Crucible. Every day you get to do a Daily Heroic Story which has you replaying a story mission you already did...for better stuff. Every week there will be a Weekly Heroic Strike to earn prizes like Strange Coins, Legendary items or engrams, or something like that. Every Friday to Sunday morning, a being called Xur, Agent of the Nine will appear at a random location in the Tower and sells Exotic gear and/or weapons for Strange Coins or Motes of Light. Sometimes you can even counter Exotic bounties to get an Exotic weapon. So yes...Destiny is a game with lots to do and I get frustrated with it sometimes but in the end, it all works out. Multiplayer is also very well done and since it is by the same developer as Halo (Halo 1 to Halo 3, ODST and Reach), it feels like it. Once a month, you'll get to try the Iron Banner to get better items and I take it that it's for the hardcore gamers. Destiny is that game that people are playing constantly and even I play it that much too. There's special raids which are usually painfully and unbelieavably difficult and require you to be at a minimum (light) level to even be able to survive it. Vault of Glass which is in Venus, and (if you purchased The Dark Below) Crota's End which requires you to be at level 30 and 33 if you want a harder challenge. Your "Ghost" talks on missions, it's voiced by Peter Dinklage (Tyrion in Game of Thrones and some character in X-Men Days of Future Past, along with other stuff) and Ghost is Destiny's equivalent of Cortana but Cortana was much more interesting than the Ghost. Basically, all Ghost is is just a door glorified door opener but I have no complaints because I like Ghost. I think Peter Dinklage does a pretty good job voicing the Ghost though I can sort of tell that Peter himself wasn't all too interested. Destiny has no story yet it has cutscenes so I don't know what they were trying to do but all I can do is chuckle at some of Ghost's dialogue or othet times say "okaaay".... There's 3 classes to choose from-Hunter, Warlock, Titan. Human, Exo, Awoken (3 types of races). When I got this game, I thought it would be a masterpiece and I thought it would exceed Halo but Halo had a story. Halo had characters we liked. I liked Master Chief and the supporting cast. Destiny had none of that and I don't know why we didn't get a masterpiece. Though Destiny is a visually amazing game with detailed worlds, nice looking weapons, cool ways to make your guardian look great and be stronger, I expected so much more and I'm sure as we get more expansions down the road, maybe we will get the Destiny we were intended to get. I do like the game and I play it a lot but then if you want to have a stronger guardian, you have to play it a lot. Would I recommend this game? I'm not sure because it's not a typical game where you get to point A to point B and mission accomplished. Bungie really wanted to make a challenging game and they did that. They really did...
