A good shooter but it didn't come together as well as it could have.

User Rating: 7 | Destiny (Limited Edition) PS4

Unfortunately, a good shooter, is all that it is. Destiny was overhyped and to be fair that's not its fault. It does a lot right, the story is good, the shooting feels good and the engine feels good. It makes you want to explore the universe. The multiplayer is as competitive as ever and fun. The game world in general feels really well connected and you become immersed. You actually feel like your in a real world.

But once you play for a while the captivation wares off. You find yourself annoyed your playing the same mission again and again with just higher level enemies. You find yourself running through the same mission area you have cleared 100 times to get to another stage of the mission. Even with the world feeling so large it lacks content compared to a proper open world game like Skyrim. If you try following the storyline without completing bounties along the way or if you skip some side missions your in trouble and will be killed because you will progress too fast without leveling up enough. The enemies seem to have a fair amount of variety but ultimately if your good at shooters you can just spray and pray everything but a few boss fights and even then most of the bosses are easy kills.

Destiny will appeal to people with a lot of friends that can play with them. The multiplayer part is a lot of fun and the game is built around it. I do not recommend buying destiny for a single player experience at this time unless you enjoy solo repetitive farming.

I am giving Destiny a 7 because it lacks gameplay innovation, the single player experience was clearly sacrificed for a multiplayer experience and its boring to repetitively farm areas just to level up (At Least for Me). However it is still a good shooter.
