Does anyone know where there is a list for the name translations?

Ok, I was reading a version of Romance of the three kingdoms, but the names were a different translation then they are in the game. At one point I did see a site with a list saying who is who in each translation but I can't find that site no matter how hard I look. Does anyone know some place that has the translation?

You mean like Ts'ao Ts'ao instead of Cao Cao? Or Sou Sou instead of Cao Cao? If it's the first, you're reading a Wade-Gilles romanised text. Here's a conversion table:
http://www.library.ucla.edu/libraries/eastasian/ctable2.htm
If it's the second, you're reading a romanisation of the Japanese pronunciations.. and I can't help you.

yay ^_^
That's exactly what I'm looking for, might even be the same list I saw a while back. I just need to go from wade-giles to pinyin because the version I'm reading is in wade-giles, but DoaE and just about everything else uses pinyin.
Thanks!

http://www.kongming.net is your god when it comes to ANYTHING RoTK (DoaE, RoTK games by Koei, and a bounty of other cool stuff to check out.) If you're big into RoTK Era, you can spend hours on this site!

*waves hello to everyone* ^.^/
I'm happy to have found this board. Destiny of an Emperor is my favourite game for the NES. ^.^
If anyone is interested in more discussion of the Three Kingdoms setting, there is some on the boards for Koei's various Romance of the Three Kingdoms games:
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=588628
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=588629
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gentopic.php?board=588631
and others.
This question about unfamiliar-looking names such as Ts'ao Ts'ao and Tung Cho sometimes arises there, and when it does I've posted the same link as Boco47 mentioned here.

Saving, especially for when this question comes up again on one or more of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms boards, so I can just direct them here (or cut and paste)....

I vaguely remember hearing about a translated version (of the book Romance of the Three Kingdoms) in which something similar to what MeteorStrike mentioned was done. ^.^;;

I suppose if you could figure out what thier names mean in Chinese, you could find a name in English that has the same (or a similar) meaning, then convert it to that. http://www.babynames.com and http://www.behindthename.com both have lists of names and thier meanings, though the latter is more in-depth. This is something I'd like to do just for thehell of it, though I wouldn't know where to begin finding out what thier Chinese names mean.
