A wonderfully crafted game, with a refreshing level of difficulty!
Kind of a strange way to start I know, but man did video games in general need this game to come out.
There are numerous positives, but I will focus on just a few that I thought were the most significant. First off, the game is beautiful, there are some really interesting scenic views and settings. The first world you enter puts you dead-set in the middle of a medieval castle complete with dragons and all. The second positive I want to talk about are the controls. They are incredibly accurate. Let me tell you though if you die, it is definitely your fault.
The last and best part of the game (it deserves its own paragraph) is the difficulty. It was such a great experience dying in a game. I know that sounds strange, but in this day and age games are easier than they ever have been. Now once you get used to the game-play and understand the timing of attack the game gets easier, but it's easier because you as the player are better. If you head back to the 1st-world and you aren't careful, well you're dead. Having to apply yourself in the game-world every second your there is really fun and keeps the game fresh. Hopefully more games follow in its shoes and really push difficulty.
There are a couple things I didn't like. The main issue was the ending. After such an epic game, I was hoping there was going to be as equally as great ending, but it really left me flat. To the point of being actually disappointed. I also found the crafting portion of the game pretty lacking as well. Towards the end of the game I really just stopped caring about upgrading my weapons, because I just didn't want to grind-out the necessary shards.
Overall, great game, unexpectedly great! If you haven't played it yet, and you are a little glutton for punishment go out and get it. Best thing besides it being a great game is that it's cheaper than dirt right now! Have some fun!
