"I'm a blast from the past!"

Wesley Snipes was pretty much describing this game in the movie. We all know the pattern of movie tie-in games. Slap something together resembling the movie in two seconds and ship it immediately. And most turn out like garbage. But movie tie-ins are largely underrated. This game is pretty good and it feels like the movie and your standard action game. It also features very minimal voice clips from Sly and Wesley themselves. Interestingly though, it seems to be composed of 2 other games. The sidescrolling action portions (the better part) seem like Contra. The 3/4 overhead levels (the crummy parts)are seemingly taken from True Lies. This makes for a very interesting game. The weapons are deadly, the levels are difficult, the levels are action packed, and the controls... well they could use some work. Too many times do you press jump to grab a ledge and plunge forward to your death. The aiming system is somewhat useful, but to shoot in between two directions, you need to alternate the other directions. If it sounds complicated, it is. The graphics are normal for an SNES game, so that's still okay. But this is a title that should not be overlooked.

Last Words: This is one of the higher entries on the movie tie-in spectrum. A great action game, if occasionally difficult. Action/platform fans should pick it up. Any other players should decide for themselves. But I recommend it none-the-less.
