Mmmmmm DotA omg, kill me now. I completely agree with reevolved in the fact that this just looks like a watered down version of DotA which is a thoroughly develeped game. They basically took Warcraft III and combined it with, well, DotA which is a game created within the limits of Warcraft III. It's watered down Warcraft III and I really don't think that this game or these developers could out do Blizzard. All I'm saying is it better not suck and just insult Warcraft, Starcraft, and Blizzard in general.
Coltsmor: "its a improved DotA! why not love it?" Because the only improved DotA there is, is a new version of DotA. That's why.
I've been watching this game for a while because it's *like* DotA, but there's a fundamental flaw over the course of these videos: this game is *less* than DotA. DotA has been improved upon for many years whether many of the people posting here like the game or not. The ONE DotA map is rich enough for the entire game with its strategic "juke" points (which Demigod is clearly lacking); heroes and abilities are plentiful and very creative; item builds are simple but scale very well and add unique abilities, not to mention hero ability combos. I'm afraid Demigod will not be able to live up to this legacy until at least a sequel if ever, especially since the only thing I've heard them talk about for 6 months before release date is "Generals/Assassins" and "Pantheon," and they're barely finished with the two (boring) hero archetypes! The gameplay footage seems flat and unexciting, lacking all strategy and understanding of their own game. This video in particular demonstrates the Dev team's complete lack of both enthusiasm for their own game and understanding of the games they were influenced by. Gas powered games might be running on fumes this time.
Heh. "Uh oh, I'm about to die ..." and the video ends. I'm not that impressed with the voice acting, tbh. Otherwise the game is still rather interesting... Though I'm starting to come around to my friend's PoV that it's just DoTA.
Hemdos, I'm with you... not impressed one bit!
is he retarded?? every 2 words he says 'stuff'.. man. this game looks dull, there's no story, and those confined arenas seems wrong for the genre..
kind of interesting'n'stuff
Everything Stardock touches just turns to gold. So I'm looking forward to it. :D
The gods are much smaller and the minions larger too. And there are far less units on screen. I wonder why they backed out. It could have been a lot cooler if they were huge, maybe they couldn't handle that scale.
its a improved DotA! why not love it?
its coh meets diablo meets arena... um no thanks
Hmmmm... looks kind of shallow. I'll still keep my eye on it but it's not looking good for me. I enjoy controlling and defending assets and "farming". I didn't realise that was something people didn't like. I also enjoy a great single player campaign/story... and this makes me think it's not going to have that.
The new case looks a lot better, but the game seems a little dull (the effects need to pop out more).
Looks very promising.
Looks like a good RTS 2 comment :D
looks pretty good i might buy it. lolz i da 1st 1 2 comment
