You know that saying the diamond in the mud? Well in Defender you are charged with being the mud that covers that diamond. After all why would you want to play a game that's enjoyable when you can play this? If you can get someone to play this game instead of a 'fun' game then you've achieved your mission. Jokes aside this whole game just feels generic you can't even crash, no high speeds and when you take down an enemy there really is no great sense of satisfaction. My whole problem with this game is it doesn't really succeed in what a space sim should. The writing isn't anything special; let's fight off some aliens and rescue civilians! The lack of thrills, and the ability to crash don't translate into a great multiplayer although there is some satisfaction to be had in the fact that they are suffering through it with you.
