AKI brings their classic fighting system to the rap world.

Anybody who was a fan of AKI's 64 wrestling games should find plenty to love here. The combat system is much the same, but that’s not a bad thing in this case. The game play is so addictive that I can easily spend lots of time on this game. But this game has a twist. Featuring rappers this is good or bad depending on your taste in music. Even I’m not a fan of rap but that shouldn’t stop you from checking out this game, now this game does have some good replay value but it can get lackluster after awhile. When you start out you have a few generic wrestlers and rappers, you unlock more via story mode. The story is basic but is serviceable. Basically you choose from four wrestlers. Your longtime friend Manny needs your help to pay out a debt. Sounds simple enough right? Later you find out your old nemesis D-mob has your girl. Your character can’t stand that and a feud between you and D-mob drive the story. During all this you face generic wrestlers to scarface, ludacris, ghostface killah, method man etc. Also at the end of your match. Depending on how well you did. You earn a cash purse which goes to furthering your fighters attributes. You can also get girlfriends in this game and you can also buy pictures of them. But this is basically useless, best to go with bumping up your stats. After you beat the story a few times you can then enjoy its limited but fun multiplayer modes. The fun wont last forever but def jam vendetta is a sweet ride while it lasts.
