Rule of thumb EA: never take away the fundamentals of a great game unless it improves the formula!

I should have been a that board meeting before, the O.Ked that choice... Good god, E.A.! How do you screw this up? Def Jam: FFNY was a masterpiece of underground, multiplayer, brawling, bliss... if it was a little longer, allowed you to go back through the story to, collect more stuff you missed and, backwards compatable, I would put that at the top of my list of classic games. As it stands now, it is still awesome. but this game... missed the mark serveal times. let me show you how:

No more 4 player brawling. After playing FFNY, I was expecting that in this one. is that the price we players pay for the graphical upgrade?

New Control innovation( if you wanna call it that...) is unnecessary. do I really need turntable controls? did my fighter honestly play better if, my music was on or not? No and, Not really. it is mostly about skill.

I can go on and on about what I don't like but, that would take forever. So, to sum it up, I say, they should have left it the way it was and, just gave it the graphical upgrade, more music, more fighter choices, a longer story and, LOCAL, 4 PLAYER MULTIPLAYER...

Not saying it is the worst game ever made. I'm saying, ever heard the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? Well, E.A. apparently didn't hear that... this is how Innovation can backfire.
