BEST PSP Fighter- hands down

User Rating: 10 | Def Jam: Fight for NY: The Takeover PSP
Being an avid fan of Hip Hop, I was a little disheartened by the first "Def Jam" game, Vendetta. I felt that they were greatly lacking on setting itself apart from a wrestling game with rappers. Then, I heard "Def Jam:FFNY" was coming out, and much to my delight, my fav boss chick Lil' Kim was gonna be in it! Then I thought, "Am I just signing up for another Vendetta?" No. Absolutely not. DJFFNY has wrestling tones in it, but in my mind, this game is a hard hitting fighter all on it's own.

And it's available on the PSP in this version, The Takeover. Aside from the storyline, this is a carbon copy of the game that graced home consoles (and trust me, that is in no way a bad thing). All of the stages (plus a few more), all of the fighters, and all of the hard hitting, wig splitting fun is packed into this game. The only thing that is really scaled down are the modes: instead of having 4 man free-for-alls, the PSP keeps things personal with 1 on 1 matches only. While this does hinder multiplayer (one of the best things is to team up with a best friend), keeping it personal and amping up the difficulty on the CPU ensures that you will have some memorable fights. And if you fight someone thaty kicks your gritz, you'll more than likely focus your energy on beating them- repeatidly.

The weapons, as well as the movesets, are all here and just as bone crunching as it's big brothers. Like Gamespot said in their review, some of these moves look and sound like they just hurt. Good fun!

All in all, I feel Def Jam is the best fighter available for PSP, as it is the only one that I still have that keeps me entertained for hours on end. Whether you like rap/wrestling/fighters- this game has all of those bases loaded. Do yourself, and your PSP available, and play one of the best fighters ever to grace any console!

Screw Def Jam Icon, THIS is how the game SHOULD BE!
