Def Jam simply put, is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. The first time a rented it, in the middle of the game I got stuck on a fight and I promised myself I would never play it again. But then I started to miss it and decided to buy it this time and I did, and man did I have a great time. The fighting sytem is fun and is complex to master. There are 5 different fighting styles. Each one of them with their own unique strenght and looks. Mixing up the styles is fun and will keep you coming back to play the game over and over to try different combinations. The voicework is great, you can even choose a voice for your own charecter! Most likely the most enjoyable thing in Def Jam is its story. Most fighting games don't even have a real story, but in this one you're taken through twists and turns that you will not forget. For a fighting game it's pretty long too, with over 90 fights! I've personally never had prolems with the frame rate and the camera angles were pretty solid as well. It may get difficult at spots, but if you have a bit of patience you will master it in no time. I did and I beat every fight within a minute. It was a great experience an I can not wait for Def Jam 3.
If you like the game's trailers, screenshots or if you have have atleast a little bit interest in fighting or action, this game is for you.
P.S. I don't like rap at all, but I still love the game. So if you hate rap, don't think it will get in the way here.
