Witty dialogue and a fun story make this game lovable and amusing.

I found this game while browsing through the PS3 demos available. I was convinced to download it due to its name and I'm so glad I did. I loved it so much I bought it on the spot.

My only real complaint about this game is the crossbow. If your gold is in the way your arrows won't hit your target and that can mess up your combat. In general this was not a huge problem though and I loved the game regardless.

The dialogue in this game will keep you laughing out loud throughout, including the dialogue choices you can make. Every area is distinct and full of its own side quests that desire completion. I also very much enjoyed the challenge this game brought to the table. It was not too intense of a challenge, but this game is no push-over either. This game is perfect for a medium-level gamer.

The combat is more simplistic than most games, but that is to be expected. You can do combos by using 2 weapons at a time and then you have your Justice weapons which you can use once your Justice has filled up. These are "special attacks" that can stun, spin or knock back enemies when used, giving DeathSpank a slight edge in battle. You also have orbs. My favorite being the Black Hole Orb, which sucks up your enemies and tosses them into the 5th dimension ... or wherever Black Holes go. There's also orbs of Invulnerability, Undead Orbs, etc. You also have several different kinds of potions such as Healing, Armor, Crit and Stealth. All of these things need to be managed and are used to your advantage during mini-bosses or battles where you are facing a hoard of enemies.

I was afraid the final boss battle would be too easy, but fear not boss-lovers! The final boss of the game whooped me into next week during my first fight against him due to some tricks he had up his sleeve. It made for a very nice end to a really fun game.

I advise anyone to at least try out the demo first as this game likely will not hold the interest of more hardcore gamers.
