Kevin VanOrd sneaks his way past this video review for Death to Spies: Moment of Truth.
Lol he complain about the game being hard and not having a tutorial for the controls... Well not all games are for 10 years old kids that want everything done and just hit buttons, this game makes you think and no you don't have to use a gun not even 1 time in all the complete game, is about stealth and think very well what to do before doing it. 6.5 is just a bad score for a very bad review....
Men play this kind of games, kids play HALO, GoW and CoD...
First of all, realize that this game is a very unique game - it's target audience is not for everyone. There is no such thing as a game for everyone. But I digress... My point is that this game is meant for you if you enjoy thinking and plotting out your actions, if you enjoy sneaking and stealth to an extreme degree, and if you're a fan of spy-noir style games. I played all the Hitman games, loved them, then tried out the first DtS game and was floored at how much more intricate this game is compared to Hitman. If you're a "run and gun" gamer, look elsewhere. But if you enjoyed the stealth of Hitman and wished it was longer or more intense, then by all means try this game out.
played the demo, my pc isnt that great, so i had crappy graphics as well as a bad frame rate. Nevertheless, its mad fun, im surprised it only got 6.5
A bit too tough for me. I guess i will wait for the next Hitman game. And by the way did i mention the graphics and animation feel even more worn out than the WW2 setting of the game.
I dont like the game, but i loved the Yoplait Add. Man im hungry now :(
looks awesome i wish it was for xbox dam this is huge
Looks even worse than Velvet Assassin....the cover system looks terrible. And the graphics look like they were from Battlefield 1942 in 2002 (with the exception of the lighting).
I don't know but this really looks like Velvet Assassin. But anywho they are both awful games.
The game isn't that bad. I downloaded and played the demo. If I had money to blow right now I would of probably bought it but I don't. Think of Hitman in WW2. As for the others asking why aren't they reviewing other games? What other games? We are in a HUGE drought of gaming till closer to the end of the year.
i will play this game another time!
@Born_Lucky I agree. I think the reason they did this game and not bigger/better games that have released recently is because you can find those reviews on other sites, while this game probably won't get a video review anywhere. Still, it looks awful.
Sounds like it suffers from all the same problems as the first one. :-/
Chillipepper is right. This game looks awful, and why did they do a video review of this, and not some of the better games that have been released lately.?
I will save this game for hard times.
I hail hard challenges, but I don't have time for this.
I got the russian version about a year ago, and it's just like the review said... It's WERY good when sneakin and definetly worth playing. I have had spent sometimes days for one mission on expert level and LOVED the satisfaction after mission well done.
m1rock got it spot on, the graphics look that dated too!!
wow this game looks like garbage. i remember playing the demo of the first one and this one looks like the first except worst. and btw, did anyone notice that this is a really random game to do a a video review for?
commando's in 3d, though its not the usual blast and ask later, you may have to think abou this one
doesnt look any big thing just another wana be best game...
I haven't played a good stealth game since the Thief series. And the fact that you can just mow down all your enemies with a smg as shown above is a total turn off. Where's that sense of vulnerability you should get? Also the story is weak, according to Kevin, wich is important as hell to me. I'll still give it a try, maybe I can rent it. Who knows, it could be more then meets the eye
well lack of information overall would probably be of sort of realism, think about it ur a spy behind enemy lines, ur not gonna have a pda telling u wats wat during nazi germany, ur just gonna have to trust ur wits and hope for the best, i guess this game would be for hardcore stealth fans since stealth takes the highest priority, even above combat and graphics, get spotted and ur likely not going to live, thats how stealth is played, stealth isnt about "trial and error." its "trial error death regret, plan, plan blows up in face, death, definite plan, stepped on a mine, death (obviously), maybe this game isnt for me" all im saying is stealth games should NOT be anything close to a breeze or easy or even normal, it SHOULD be difficult if not then wats the point of actually staying unseen if u can just gun down everyone like rambo, and whats the point of using stealth if the AI is too blind and stupid to even no ur not supposed to be there
Kinda looks graphically similar to Hidden and Dangerous 2.
I enjoyed the original, will definitely pick this one up. Very few games score even an 8 on PC when Kevin reviews them...so i'll take the review with a grain of salt. I suppose if I hadn't played the original I'd care more about the review. Interesting points though. The fact that it was difficult seemed to be the main complaint as that's what was said nearly 3/4 of the review. First was difficult though and I beat it so, heh.
OMG, a sequel you kidding. I must got it. That game is not for every one, the challenge here is to have attention or else you never get what is happing among all those gun fights and nice scenarios.
It is just like the game Commandos that came out several years back.
@Gooshnads -- If you listen closely and read the written review, you will see that the game is not a 6.5 because it's hard; they outline a number of issues and highlight a few areas in which there was noticeable room for improvement. I recommend reading the review, because suggesting that this is a 6.5 simply because it's hard doesn't represent what I actually said or wrote.
I'm so tired of people comparing stuff to mgs like people compare things to halo lol... and the review score doesnt do it justice... i don't think just because a game is HARD it makes it a 6.5 i think it should be at least a 7
I agree with Hondje89. Nothing compares to MGS. They may have adopted the sneaking techniques and other stuff, but they don't come close to the real thing. Looks as if the characters in the game are boring. We'll have to see.
I loved the first game, I had no idea this was out already gonna have to buy it!
If you want better sneaking then play a MGS game. If you want it harder, then set it on the hardest setting. It also has a good story to it and more options.
another Hitman game
games can be hard, but that hard? even for a stealth game you should atleast have something to help you out or rely on.....well i guess this game is for people that find splinter cell easy.
I think this game is classed as "hard" because the majority of other games gives gamers such an easy ride. I can't remember the last game over the past year or so that really challenged me. If you can't hear the reviewer over the music try turning down the Bass. It helped me hear what he was saying a lot.
I like GS reviews, they're so honest thats a point for ya Kevin
yeah, music is too loud, cant hear the reviewer
i think i will pass, it doesn't really look great and hes put me off saying its soo hard
Just wanted to point out - The lack of the tutorial is probably because they didn't think anyone would play this game without having played (and enjoyed) the Original..There are alot of game sequels that don't bother with tutorials because they assume people will know what they are doing. The original did have a tutorial, and it was very useful as it taught me enough to finish the game without having to go to forums for answers/tips... Though I agree it shouldn't of been too hard to throw in a tutorial for this game too, even if it was basically the same.
The audio quality is horrible. Can hardly hear the reviewer over the game's music.
