Whilst investigating a murder, he's wading through sewage at a sewage processing plant. Narrating film noir style:

"No spent bullet casings in the eighth vat either. I was beginning to doubt I'd find ANY bullet casings. And considering bullets hadn't even been USED in the murder... I was beginning to have some doubt that this would help solve the crime."

Also to Cannonball (and Siryn):
