If you are looking for a licenced game that is at least decent, this is not a bad choice.

User Rating: 7.5 | Deadliest Warrior: The Game X360
Deadliest Warrior is based on the Spike TV show of the same name. The show takes the weapons of two warriors or armies who have never fought in the world's history, compares them, and uses the data to see who is the deadliest warrior. The show is good and I recommend checking it out. But, now on to the game.

Deadliest Warrior: The Game is a fighting game which currently has 9 warriors from history to choose from. Them being: an Apache Native American, a Knight, a Ninja, a Pirate, a Centurion, a Samurai, a Spartan, and a Viking. Guerrilla fighters like the Ninja and Apache are fast and agile, while those with shields, like the Spartan and Viking are great at defense.

This game isn't the deepest in the world, but it has some things that make it stand out, such as it's "realistic nature". The most realistic part of the game is that if you are hit with a large projectile in the head, it is an instant kill. The only problem is that it is near completely random whether it is hit in the head or not. Though, an odd part, you can have an arrow driven directly into the heart and not die. Though, if it were that realistic, it'd probably be even more frustrating that it already is.

This game can be very difficult due to the fast deaths during each round. Just to taunt us, the game's default difficulty setting is Hard. Unless you are undefeated in games like Street fighter and Mortal Kombat, I suggest changing it to normal before you start.

The game is very graphic and violent in an entertaining way. Your limbs can be serverd and even broken in the game. IE: Let's say you are a Spartan, if you shield too many powerful attacks, your arm will eventually break, leaving you unable to use your medium range weapons and projectiles. In the severed category, a correctly timed and aimed slice with a sword can sever an arm, leg, or even head. But, just because you only have one arm doesn't mean you're down and out. It is emensely satisfying to have your arm cut off and you still keep fighting and end up winning the match.

There are even fatalities in the game. Luckily, they are much easier to do and find out this time around. They are normally done by pressing two certain face buttons at the same time, which causes an attack to happen. You can do them at almost any time in the match. If it kill, a very gory cutscene happens which is awesome to watch, but if the attack does not kill, it is merely a powerful attack.

Deadliest Warrior: The Game is a fun little game and very well deserves the 800 MS Point price tag. There is even DLC coming out in the future which will add more fighters, such as the Indian Rajput warrior and Vlad the Impaler. If you have $10 to burn, this game is highly recommended, but if you are looking for the greatest licensed game of recent times, Batman: Arkham Assylum is probably your best bet.
