Highway Robbery

User Rating: 3 | Deadfall Adventures PC

Against my better judgement i went ahead and bought this game for a whopping £32.99, thinking (very stupidly) that at that price it would be a decent game. Well, lets just say i deserve to be hung, draw and quartered and then made to play Duke Nukem Forever on a loop all the while wearing a sign that says "IDIOT".

This game was terrible, the dialog was, to be frank, the worst script i have heard, ever. I mean, Quatermains companion Jen says over and over (and over) the same line "still think I'm a rookie, Quatermain!" and very little else apart from the obvious. The puzzles the game throws at you are easy providing the player with very little in the way of a challenge, I mean there is nothing in the game that provides anything close to a challenge, especially to a seasoned gamer. the game is linear with it pushing you in the one direction and allowing you virtually no room to explore.

The visuals are probably the only redeeming feature of the game which is only spoiled by your inability to actually explore your surroundings. Actual game play is smooth but again this is let down by the lack of any threat the NPC's provide, even the mummies are lack luster and are probably wondering why their agents pushed this gig onto them instead of sending them for auditions for the next Resident evil or Left4Dead game. I mean the only way to kill them off is with a torch of all things.

I would recommend anyone who has the slightest notion to buy this game, to do them selves a favor: firstly wait until it has been in the bargain bin for quite sometime and secondly, only buy it when there is a lull in new releases and you have caught up on any back log of games you already own. This game is terrible and i should have known better.
