Holds Up Well 4 Years Later

I recently dusted off my copy of DTR and decided it fitting to write a review. I first played the game back in '02 around the time it came out. My litle brother had it for our shared Xbox. It was the closest thing to GTA on the console at the time and it did a good job of keeping me occupied before the double came out, which I got 2 years and 3 Xboxes later. Luckily, the disc has lasted this long.
At the time the game was revolutionary, but now it feels like True Crime and NARC, which shows how advanced some of the features in the game were at the time. The Shadow mechanic was nicely done. It helped in the cluch if you were careful with it when you didn't need it.
The graphics, of course are rather dated, but you can still see how they looked good four years ago. You can have crazy gunfights with numerous enemies and somehow be the last man standing. There's a lot happening onscreen at any given time.
The prison level is my favorite. The fisfights are sometimes extremely difficult, but it adds to the sense of accomplishment after you beat them. All in all, not a bad game, and you should be able to find it for under seven bucks.
