"In space, no one can hear you scream... from joy!"

I have to say that I didn't know what to expect when I spotted this bargain for 15 quid in Sainsburys. I didn't read any reviews or watch any videos so the whole thing was a big suprise for me. And what a pleasant, albeit terrifying suprise it was too.

The most obvious thing that this game reminds you of is the movie Alien. It isn't a rip off of it. It just uses similar scare tactics to really give you a feeling of isolation, fear and tension. The music is fantastic and feels appropriate to every situation. From the darker groan music of the zero G areas to the the whines which increase in volume as you approach a danger. The graphics wow me non stop. It looks absolutely gorgeous. And the way they use them too; the cold vastness of the space when you are outside the ship, you just feel that it is going to suck you away any second. Great stuff.

The story seems a little empty, but I am not counting that against the game because again it adds to the feeling of isolation. It is just a simple "we have to get out of here" storyline. No nonsense. There are text and sound logs scattered around the place to be picked up. Nodes to find in which to power up weapons, armour and special abilities. This gives it that completest nature that we gamers know and love.

Nope, I cannot flaw this game, it really does seem to have all bases covered. And whatever you do, do not compare it Resi 4. It certainly doesn't play or feel like it.
