not for the faint of heart......
dead space is one of those rare horror games that hits the "scare" factor while maintaining good gameplay and mechanics.The atmosphere is extremely creepy and sound effects in the game are amazing,the sound of a tin rolling while you walk past a corridor,the growl of a necromorph behind you or distant screams of helpless victims being torn to shreds some-where aboard the ishimura(the spaceship),all send a chill down your spine.The atmosphere around your character as you find your way through the spaceship is amazing,the graphics are very good and the character models are very well made.
Well the atmosphere and sound alone don't make a good game,the gameplay in dead space is just as good as the sounds-effects and graphics,shooting the limbs of the aliens is the only way to kill them,this gives the game a challenging aspect as you must aim where you shoot instead of a mind-less bulletstorm,the ammo gets scares as you progress through the game,which makes you want to think about where to aim to save max. ammo.The weapons are very innovative,powerful and downright fun to use,the satisfaction you get when you see the hands and legs of the necromorphs get ripped by your plasma cutter,ripper or the line gun is just plain fun.Enemies tend to pop out of nowhere,this makes the game super scary,one second you find the corridor empty and the other all the vents burst and bloodthirsty aleins are after you,the character models of the aliens are excellently made and are very gross.
The thing which disappointed me was that the lead character has no feelings at ALL.You go around doing whatever your told without even questioning it's motive.
Apart from that the game is excellently made and is amazing,hella-epic says its a MUST BUY!!!!!!!
