Better than Resident Evil. Better than Silent Hill. Buy this game.

STORY: You are Isaac Clarke, an engineer on board a planetcracking ship looking for lone planets to, well, crack. What you find however, is the USG Ishimura, an abandoned ship in the middle of deep space. No lights. No contact. What happened to the survivors? The Necromorphs. Buy the game to learn more.

GRAPICS: Very nice graphics for a 2008(?) game. Necromorphs look very creepy and gory. Environments are very nice and lighting is good. For the most part, textures are sharp, but I did notice some mild pixellation after coming in from space. Character models could be a little more detailed (but they are still very good) and animation is great.

GAMEPLAY: Most of the game centers around you, Isaac Clarke, running around doing things for other people. The missions DO get repetitive and often involve alot of backtracking. The captain will ask you to open the hangar. Hangar is dead. Collect this, get that, come back, activate hangar, open hangar. This got a little annoying, but its really not a big deal. Backtracking isn't all that bad, usually new enemies and spooky happenings occur the second time around. Combat is fun and gory. To eliminate Necromorphs, you must dismember their limbs. This is satisfying at times and slightly repetitive also. You also have access to two modules called Stasis and Kinesis. Stasis slows down time, which helps in certain puzzles, and Kinesis is pretty self-explanatory, you can move objects and corpses in mid air and hurl them at your enemies. New weapons and upgrades are available throughout the game, as well as new armor. There are alot of scary moments in the game, lots of pop-ups, and sometimes even strange, unusual sadistic things. The game lasted me about 12-14 hours, so the game is nice and long.

AUDIO/SOUNDTRACK: I'm not sure if there is a soundtrack to this game, because there is really no music in the game. The sounds however, are 10/10 crystal clear. The sounds are amazing, no doubt. Everything sounds real, I cant explain it, they just sound REAL. Voiceacting is not generic or cheesy in any way, its all original and creative. Try a Bose Home Stereo System or Surround Sound while playing this game. You will be blown away.
