Shaun McInnis modifies his weapons for this video review of Dead Space 3.
One day kids are going to wake up and realize this game is not that great , corruption is everywhere so gamespot has it too this game is traditionally 1st person shooter whats new is this piece of shit ...
I have an unfortunate flaw where once I start a franchise/trilogy, I have to play it until it finishes or jumps the shark. Meaning I am still playing RE because they unfortunately kieep making them despite by solid stance in 2011 that i was NOT buying RE6 ( I now own both Archives on 360 and a regular copy on PS3, fuck me right). So i'll be buying this when it's 20 bucks.
Its the natural progression for the series , you cant just repeat Dead Space 1 every time.." I know lets have Isaac alone in a city this time fixing random computer terminals and make up more completely pointless shite for him to fix because every other engineer on the planet has died"
At some point you have change the gameplay or move on to a new project
People arent just pissed off about the coop, the graphics or the weapon bench. Its the whole experience. I finished this game a week ago 100% and went back to play the first one and i still play the second one for the multiplayer. If you started loving this franchise because of the first game you will understand all the frustration...
I think they fcked this up cuz theyre working on the next gen project already. Just my opinion...

@Laedipiros dude i get you, even changing the fucking colors of the ishimura was enough for us, but no, its the american way of destroying every thing beautiful make it big make it better have some co-op and multiplayer shit. and earn extra money... **** capitalism

Took me 30 hours to complete, but I'm the only one who notted bugs? (nulliefied damage of detonator mines, revolver shoots are deviated be some degrees no matter where you aim and how still you are, lots of checkpoints issues). Or the absurd enemy placement in some parts? Anyway, I can say with security that this will please more Dead Space fans than expected, me and my friend included. Game is so flexible that it can be played with old school weapons and no partner and you'll have what you asked: a faithful albeit 'more of the same' Dead Space campaign. If you liked the 2nd one you won't be dissapointed one bit.
I Like Isaac When He`s Screaming "WIYAOOOUUUUU!!!!" LOL BTW Dead Space,Dead Space 2 is a games that scary me from the beginning till the end!!!!!!!!
the only thing i liked in this review was the score. "The story is complicated"? its pretty staight forward and they really seem to have spent some serious time toward the ending, "The gameplay is the same as previous Dead Space"? really, really? "overused clumsy ice climbing" they were actually pretty interesting, although yes, they were a bit clunky, i bet Shaun was so bad at them that he died a bunch of times and thats why he was frustrated
I WAS SAYING THIS GAME IS AN 9 AT LEAST NOPE DID NOT PLAY IT OUT ITS LIKE AN FIVE IT SUCKS FUN FOR 8 HOURS THAN SUCKS.
I don't think Shaun is the right person to review this. He admitted that he didn't understand the story of the series. And anyone who says that the story is horrible, also didn't understand the story of the series. I love DS 1. DS 2 gave Isaac more depth. He is not a silent hero anymore. In the course of DS2, I felt sad for Isaac, for his lost love. On the part of uninteresting characters that shortly will die, they are uninteresting because they have no backstory. And the deaths of the people all around takes it toll in Isaac that he is increasingly getting insane (plus the influence of the marker).
@raingod2006 I'm still playing DS1 on chapter 8 and I don't think I understand the story. I still gave it an 8.5.
@raingod2006
Maybe the right complain about the characters is, as you say, that they don't have any backstory or nothing is explained about them, they are just there.
Dead Space 1 and 2 scared the crap out of me... almost don't want to do it again...
@philcelica Try playing your xbox in a sewer and you'll see what fear is all about! Trust me!
Just another dead space game, horrible story but that is just to meet the games needs. Good game not great. More the same.
it pains me to see so what a bunch of complete retards and rednecks my fellow gamers are...
the content in this is massive compared to the others. massive variety and co-op clearly superior to the other dead spaces. so why 8.0 its clearly a 9.0 and people clearly moaning i cant understand what they wanted. it had elements of the horror but it can not capture dead space 1 neither could dead space 2 because its the same enemies same game play it get old im pleased they changed it and mixed it up here.
if there's a fourth i really don't wont to be Isaac again its just getting to old it was better if it showed you him dying instead of the post credit thing. think it would of been fitting like Shepard in mass effect 3 and they where both wearing N7.
As much as I miss the old Dead Space, I don't hate this one. Everybody knows that the solitude and anticipation and horror was what made the series great to start. EA is evil and yadda yadda but I don't think that this game taking a different direction diminishes their previous glory in any way.
I'm not going to jump on the "OMG THEY KILLED DEAD SPACE" bandwagon. It's fun playing co-op, and it doesn't entirely ruin the horror aspect. It almost amplifies it if you're playing with a friend. Microtransactions and exploitative DLC suck, but are easy to abstain from. I don't see any reason to freak out.
guys is it really worth it a mean with the coop thing..?
I got both DS 1 & 2 and I liked them both. Does the gameplay stand up to expectations or did it fumble?
Thanks fellow gamers.
@CEMETARY_GATESx if Kevin HAD reviewed this, I wouldnt have taken it serious in any way... atrocious pronunciation and terrible reviewing skills... He should quit while there are still people on these boards that are fond of him, myself not included.
Congratulation EA..
It took Capcom 7 installments to destroy Resident Evil, you did it in 3.
"Achievement unlocked 123 EA crap legacy"
It is not a bad game. It's just not Dead Space.
Oh my favorite game what have they done to you?
I will never forgive you EA T T
@64-bit It actually took Capcom 3 installments to destroy Resident Evil. They retconned Wesker back to life before RE3 came out (Weskers Report and later Weskers Report 2) - they just didn't put him in another game until 2000 when CV came out. RE3 itself was complete retcon meant to capitalize on the success of RE2 without a full development cycle because they had material lying around to use, while they worked on an actual sequel. Everything since then has sucked increasingly but the storyline was completely shot.
Co-op for dead space was a fantastic move on Visceral's and EA's part. It makes the game so much funner with a buddy, especially seeing different cut scenes for both Carver and Isaac. Like, seriously, it's better than the Multiplayer portion they added in #2. The story is extremely bland, and I did not have any emotional attachment to any characters. In fact, I wanted to shoot and stomp on every person I met. Sure, it isn't scary, but the weapon crafting is a nice touch. 8 is a justified score!
these game devs are so gutless to try something new with a franchise... change his walk/run/shoot animation, put the friggign energy bar on his arm or sumthin, change the sound it makes when you hover over and pick up an item.. the score with each consecutive DS game is dropping to friggin mediocrity what was once the game i had to tell all my friends about
Oh this was Dead Space...but 80% of the game i play it on a planet...and it's Lost Planet...and it does not have 1% horror left pure action. Oh maybe the horror will come from the 11 DLC's or wait wait wait microtransactions because Tungsten is rare...pfff. Whoa it's a new level of reality!!!!
This game is cool, all the details, just wow.....
But the only thing I hate about it is the new AUTO SAVE, why did they go for this, while I was doing a side mission I said, I will finish this tomorrow, so when I went back, it completely restarted, now that?s not cool at all, it has happend a few times,
I read somewhere that it supposedly saves every 15 minutes or so, but for some reason on side missions this doesn't work, I am playing solo, I really hope this doesnt happen in co-op to
playing it now. If you're a DS fan, you'll love it. The atmosphere's still creepy, & the beginning is way more "actiony" paced than before. The visuals are stunning. Make sure to listen to the entire opening. You find out Ellie got a new eye(wrong color), & what really happened in 1 & 2. The dialogue is very flat & argumentative for no reasons. Play solo, it's WAY better. Be careful at the 1st weapon stop. Once you make a weapon, you can't really get the original back. It's solid
@Bolgernow Next one is going to be EVEN MORE action packed and will show WHAT REALLY happened in 1,2,AND 3. And itwill contain more microtransactions to buy more enimies and such
well ... near to finish dead space 3 -- all i can say .. dummy action .. and i felt like they made horror moments just to satisfie old fans .. but all of them was so predictable and not scary at all .. don't expect more from the current gen -- 2nd it was a big mistake from the beginning visceral making Isaac speaks -- he was much better in silent mode -- sadly to see an epic got destroyed by greed of money .. Thnx EA
@microvision82 I disagree. Silent protaganists are a thing of the past and don't really serve much purpose anymore. The entirety of DS1 is upsetting when Isaac never says a word, especially with the hallucinations and voices.
Was this new sequel so much needed? Why not make a new horror- science fiction game?
So.
I'm confused...
No mention of the god-awful save system, horrendous pacing, microtransactions, or Day 1 DLC? (I don't care if those last two are optional--they should be mentioned.)
Good gravy, the pacing in this game was TERRIBLE. And the auto-save is a complete joke.
Are there any parts of the game that can be missed out on if only playing Single Player?
Also when playing with a partner is the game then easier with another person firing or does it compensate by adding more/harder enemies?
Is there an option for AI on the partner?
@Toysoldier34 I'm playing solo, and there are some side missions that requiere a co-op partner, you can invite a friend to do it, but in my case my friends don't have the game yet, so I can't access those sidemissions, they don't give you an option to pull a random one..... I need more friends that like dead space, LOL. There is no option for an AI partner.
I haven't verified it but the game does get more difficult when in co-op or so I heard from a video with the developers
@Raven_1981 @Toysoldier34 I mean I'd play with you if I actually considered DS3 worth purchasing at the current price.
