If you buy it, and don't like it, dev won't really care... Why are people so on about the co-op. I for one love the idea. Single singleplayer is still in there! And co-op in my opinion seems amazing, we didn't see much in this gameplay, it was just giving us some idea on what the cool new thing is. How you have stuff going on your character's mind and such. And playing this should be similar-like to playing a zombie game with multiple characters, lets say Left4Dead. The game is based on the whole concept of multi-player survival but it's not something hard to implement on other games, Red Dead Redemption is a fine example that implemented the concept with a DLC, and Dead Space takes an even wider angle. I'm sure the ideas of creeping audio and scares are kept in the game seeing as they've already done it. The game does deserve the chance people, and even when games like this are a 'letdown' to its series, they're still games worth playing. My opinion.

Both Isaac and Carver are plagued by their own unique forms of madness, and it often split their union in co-op gameplay.
I can already hear my friend cursing at me to quit tripping my balls in the middle of a fight. "But it's so pretty in here Issac, won't you join us?"
I really wish they didn't use a creature like the "Twitcher". I feel like it takes some of the scare factor away just because of how it moves. I know it's a sci-fi but that takes some of the realism away. I want a horror game to give me the feeling that it is really happening to me. I'm sure it makes the game a little tougher too which is fine but i would rather be scared sh!tless to the point where it's challenging for me to even play the game then to have it be tougher to kill an enemy.
@SickySckyNarNar Have you played the original? The names have changed but this enemy was there. It scared the living shit out of me
@SickySckyNarNar Just to get specific, these enemies appear when you board the military ship im almost certain. They are infected soldiers who had kinisis in thier suits, hence the speed
I wonder if you can still change equipment while in coop mode? Meaning, both players can change suits whenever they find a station to change them out.
"In co-op, you'll face the madness alone"? I kind of like this game but not that much. I don't know how you will face the madness alone in co-op but it sounds scary. Lol
Im thinking its going to feel like (army of 2) but still im a big dead space fan and kinda staying hopfull that this game isnt going to suck. i think i would prob die if it does
@daBrokenFace I still love the idea of co-op, I got scared a lot playing the games but I like the idea of not facing stuff alone.
@couly Honestly people talked so much crap about DA and after playing it I'm annoyed. I'm annoyed that I let other people affect my decision to get the game. I decided to pass after all the crap people talked and the game was better in the first in every way except for game play wasn't quite as good. The story was so much better though and I really enjoyed it.
@couly Mass Effect needs no defending it was voted GOTY like it should be fantastic series. Also wasn't the original Dead Space apart of EA? I'm guessing you only rag on EA never praise them for when they do something great? Crysis was never that great it was an overhyped FPS because of it's graphics thats it.
It would be nice if they make the toy soldiers act like the mannequins from the Condemned series and creep up behind you everytime you turn your back on them. Either way, I'm glad they're at least trying to add some new horror elements in the game instead of just adding a bunch of QTE and action sequences.
I feel like if they keep releasing gameplay on this game we know like the entire game theres going to be no surprises. (for example "We are proud to show you the entire last hour of the game because its cool")
theres something i dont get, when you play on singleplayer, the other character completly disappears from the game? or what? if thats the case then awesome :)
Love Dead Space series. This game should, MUST be amazing. I had my share of dissapointments already.
This is still going to be a fantastic game, even with the co-op. One of the biggest reasons these games are so awesome is that the madness not only shows how twisted the characters are or become, it is also an excellent way to slowly explain something about them to you without long crazy cutscenes. The thing about only wanting to play this game solo is you really miss out on the true experience that visceral is trying to convey. Yeah you play it alone and you get the Isaac story, but Carver is part of the lore now too, and he is linked to the events on Tau Volantis as well, so without Carver's take you miss a good portion of the human element that is a core facet of the Dead Space franchise. It is human drama, and without Carver's peice you are selling yourself short the full experience. Also, this is the only game series I ever found that combines the best of Silent Hill with the best of Resident Evil.
coop totally kills everything this game is about. thank goodness is optional. that enemy isn't really new btw, in dead space there were a few like that (the soldiers with built in stasis modules). looks fearsome nevertheless and is probably challenging on higher difficulties (when playin alone of course).
speaking of challenge i hope they include a hardcore mode again. that mode was the ultimate challenge and the ultimate horror, because you really really really didn't want to die. no checkpoints, 3 saves and no ng+ benefits. nothing ever made me as nervous as playing that, it was awesome.
the ability to dodge is kinda lame in a game like dead space, i hope they make the difficulty and enemy ai appropriate for such a huge advantage for the player. i remember how terrifying multiple stalkers were in ds2, just imagine how lame they would be if you could simply dodge them.
lastly i'm not really excited about having to fight human enemies in this game, but i won't criticise it just yet, maybe it'll work out, we'll see. since i'm neither a big fan of fps nor of assassin's creed this will probably be the next game i'll buy. i just hope it's good...
I heard that you can't revive your buddy if his health reachs zero. Even if I'm not sure how this co-op experience will turn out, I admit that was a smart decision that will help to conserve at least some tension in the game.
Bunch of loser babies crying all over the place regarding co-op. Don't like that portion? Then don't play it. I bet you're the same babies that cried when you heard DS2 was going to have competitive multiplayer. How did DS2 turn out? It was brilliant. Give it a chance and stop crying. You're all so worried that they are going to "cater to the casuals" because "it's not as cool as it was before. "
Shut up you internet hipsters and get over yourself.
This looks like Halo? Then you must be watching a different video because I really don't remember Halo being a third-person shooter.
@Spartan-1657 Angry much? Are you trying to pick up a fight?
@Spartan-1657 your hypocrisy is pretty dumb. You should beat in your mind that we don't own developer nothing. And if they disappoint us, they won't get as much money as they could have, like they could have.
So you better take your advise and go somewhere else with it. Because we shouldn't "get over" anythoing
@Spartan-1657 Well, for one, you don't know what it means to be a hipster, thus using the term incorrectly. Secondly, I have no idea where or why would people compare it to Halo. Thirdly, you should scroll down a little and read my very own thoughts based on what we have seen of the game so far, so you can understand why people might fear this will be a letdown.
Oh, and by the way, competitive multiplayer is something completely different compared to co-op singleplayer. Dead Space has always been about the singleplayer story, so some competitive multiplayer can just be ignored and not detract from the experience if you do not wish so, but again, read my long post a bit below to understand why co-op in singleplayer might be a bad decision, depending on how it is implemented.
I mean, of course the game will be given a chance, there's a huge fanbase right now built around the series, but that wasn't the point. The point is, does it deserve the chance it's going to get?
Would you guys stop criticizing you haven't played the game yet.if you don't like it just don't buy it.Don't hate just appreciate.
@PCanton And how will I know if I like it or not if I don't buy it? And if I buy it and don't like it, then what? People are just basing their opinions on the currently available information, obviously. And the current information seems to indicate this might be a letdown.
More like Sh1t Space 3 to me.... the worst part is that a lot of people are going to buy it (included me because i still have a little tiny hope for it to be scary) and it's going to have high reviews as an action game even though this dvmbfvck killed the franchise.
